Nerfs seem to be the best bang for the buck. I went to rifled barrels and quite pleased with how well they shoot a USED Nerf with raggdy fins and bent shaft. A new Nerf shoots the same.

Although a rifled barrel for A/T and Tanks would be sick, I've asked numerous engineers at my place of employment and all have given me countless hours of why and how and what for, but then I met and have become very good with a machinist, his answer isn't the barrel, it's the projectile , not really redesign but rather... Drag.

And yes I've done what he said to do and it works fantastic, and for a cookie I'll tell you all or just keep it secret and keep shooting the tanks from far far away with deadly accuracy

Hint 1: the nerf rocket is perfect in weight and balance( yes they really are) you just need to make them " longer" hence creating more drag.
No alterations are needed to nerf per say( no trimming fins) just need to add a little something.... About a 1/4 in diameter and about 3-6" long depending on launcher being used.

Hint 2: epoxy or hot glue

Most big event producers won't allow that type of a mod. Unless it's a straw. Streamer will give you the drag and will most likely get approval from the producers.

Oh, I've talked to refs who seen people put wooden dowel and ball bearing before. Glad your not one of them. Haven't tried that idea yet. Mine has fins that are curve the same as fletching on arrows in an angle. That seems to work great. I've done rifling inside the barrel it helps but found the curve fins works a lot better.

For those who want to rifle their barrel there's an easy way use thin car trims. It works great cause it also holds your nerfs inside your barrel.

Yes using a small ribbon or string helps keep tail stable , you loose about 15' in distance but if using a havoc , you can mod a pin sight to practice with and guage distance,

I use pizza boxes at different heights and distance to practice hitting.

Whats the deal with these MARVEL rockets ? Picked one up from family dollar. Three bucks. It looks like the front is a little smaller then a regular nerf rocket. I have not tested these as of yet. Can anyone post there experience with them. Thanks.
