So if what was mentioned has any truth, we should see this (or these) at PB Extravaganza, which is the last week of Feb '13?? That is my thought since empire dropped the e-flex at extravaganza last year.

So Empire will boost their marker line from only the Axe with TWO new 'high-end' markers next year? Hmmm...
I wonder what Infamous and XSV will be shooting.

Saw that Thomas & Rich are selling off their axe setups... I know that's pretty much a regular occurrence, but my first thought was that they've got the new guns already for next season

Given XSV's poor showing at cup, maybe Empire told them they aren't good enough for the Axe.

Ok, enough with the XSV had a poor showing at cup crap. They lost 2 and won 2. The 1st match they where poorly prepared for PSP and it showed. 2nd they got screwed by the refs against one of the best Teams in the league, Infamous. It would have been a great match. Handled the 3rd game very well. 4th game against Damage they looked very much like the better team and beat them. Oh yeah, Damage made the finals.
Back on topic, very excited to see what the new stuff may come out.

Someone's an XSV fan! I am too though. They showed some promise, they just need to get used to the pro level.
Cup was probably not the best time to dip you feet in the pro division

Not even that I am a XSV fan. I consider all of the guys on the teams to be friends of mine. But that really has nothing to do with it. They convincingly beat one of the best teams at the event and people say they had a poor showing. Objective look at it, they got better with each match and it was not only their play but getting use to the different format and the pace that things need to get done.

Kee and Dye (mostly Kee) own the core technology that DLX uses in the Luxe. Kee will have no issues with DLX. DLX has never owned the patents covering the Luxe bolt system.
A USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) patent search yields no patents assigned to (i.e. owned by) "DLX Technologies"
Additionally, at the bottom of the main page of luxepaintball.com, there are 12 patents listed (including those that cover the bolt system).
A USPTO assignee search for each of these patents indicates one of them is owned by Dye Precision, Inc., and the rest are owned by Kee Action Sports, LLC., and that none of them have ever been owned by DLX Technologies (or any derivative of DLX). The patents owned by Kee were acquired from Smart Parts after Smart Parts went bankrupt.
Here are the patents listed on luxepaintball.com and the USPTO assignee (current owner) with links to the USPTO showing the history of ownership:
5,613,483 - Dye Precision, Inc.
5,881,707 - Kee Action Sports, LLC.
5,967,133 - Kee Action Sports, LLC.
6,035,843 - Kee Action Sports, LLC.
6,474,326 - Kee Action Sports, LLC.
6,637,421 - Kee Action Sports, LLC.
7,044,119 - Kee Action Sports, LLC.
7,100,593 - Kee Action Sports, LLC.

7,603,997 - Kee Action Sports, LLC.
7,610,908 - Kee Action Sports, LLC.

Adam and Billy may not have invented the stuff they patented, and that is seriously playing hardball. KEE and DYE, however, certainly did not invent those technologies and they are making companies pay up with the same patents on basic technology used in paintball guns people gave Smart Parts so much grief for. Smart Parts got demonized for putting a choke hold on other companies in the industry (or trying to) but KEE and DYE seem to have skipped over much of that negativity, while doing the same exact thing.
That always seemed odd to me.

It is interesting. I wonder what Kee's licensing fees are like, such a large company with so many legal resources is troubling for small companies.

Partially true. Didn't SP put AKA out of business? I think they also sued WDP but lost.
Frankly any business in their situation would have done the same thing, so I don't think SP should be looked down upon for the lawsuits. Just kind of how things work.

AKA decided not to pay the licensing fee, and thus had to stop production and R&D of their electronic markers. They still exist, make great regs, and parts for the Viking and Excal.

I think SP used the patents as a spear. They went after people aggressively.
KEE and dye are seeing that its more profitable to be nice and allow new guns to come to market, while getting their reasonable percentage.
