First time I played and bought a gun was 1993.
Kaos started in 97' or 98'
Point Blank was 98' or 99' with basically the same people.

I've been good pard'ner, thanks. Paintball has become almost an afterthought for me - I haven't played a tournament since summer of 2003, but quite honestly the style of tournament 'ball had/has become such that I have no interest in it at all. Tiny fields, very little strategy, pretty much just gunfighting skills. I miss the way it was in the late 90's...larger, varied fields with longer chess-match style games and a lot more "thinking", if that makes sense. What it has become now is just no fun to me. Ahhhh well, nostalgia.
So I play the odd rec-ball here and there but mostly local to home (just outside of New Orleans). I enjoy coaching and mentoring the up-and-comers. My oldest daughter plays now, so that's fun. My oldest boy just turned ten and bugs me incessantly about playing so he may hit the fields soon. I still plan to build a spectacular place to play one of these days.
Family is good, practice ("brain cutting", LOL) is good, overall life is good. I feel very blessed and thankful.
What's going on with all of y'all?

I was playing back then. Played for the first time in 91 at a small field on the Missouri/Arkansas border with my cousin, wasn't a real field just some guy with land and a couple extra guns.
Next time was in 92 at Adair Adventures outside Searcy, PGP's all the way. Played there till they closed down around 96 and moved over by Wild Wood park, which is where I met Dr. Jon Vickers and where we shot some RP Premium gold (the 1/2 purple 1/2 gold shell) that we could literally bounce off of wooden spools.
Starting playing at T-Square around 96 and since. Haven't played serious since 2003, but getting back to it.
I believe I was on Heck's Talk message board for the 99/2000 change over, we were just hoping the message board wouldn't crash!

Lets see....history (just from personal perspective, memories)...
My first paintball game was in 87, Nashville TN. Twelve yrs old. Instantly addicted.
Played my first "real" game of Arkansas paintball in 90 or 91 at a Survival game that was located somewhere in the Ozarks just outside of Fayetteville. It was cool cause they had set up a small little town with palettes and such, and a couple of the buildings had more than a single story (I think one actually had three). Then played Sandridge for the first time in 95 and up til they closed. Played at Adair adventures once for a three man. Also Wild World, Black Rain (is that right), plus the place [near Jonesboro???] that had hyperball tubing? Played Rock & Rumble outside of Conway for the little bit they were open. Played the indoor place once that used hats instead of armbands and had velocity limit of 220 (?!?!?). Didn't play the APC in its first year (97?) but watched last tourney. Played with Point Blank (or was it Gypsy Rain?) for APC in its second year (98? Or was it 99???) with Meigs and McKellar and crew. First tournament was somewhere northwest in March in the cold rain - first game was against Dragon Fire (right name?) on the town field and I LOVED that they were wearing bright orange. :-) The series was fun but ended on a poor note due to Addicted backing out as previously mentioned. Impossible to have a credible tournament and/or series when such a thing is happening, and never rebounded. Actually that tournament is a major regret for me because in our game against Dangerous Toys (finals) I mugged their guy in the sub only to have a mutual called by the ref behind me. It wasn't the correct call but I lost my temper and acted a fool (something I used to do a lot when I was younger and full of piss and vinegar) but should have just realized the kid was doing the best he could under very difficult circumstances. Anyway, the series never recovered after that tournament, which was an embarrassment despite the truly valiant efforts of Duke Trimble and crew to try and salvage the situation.
I started playing at PBA I believe in 1996 or 97. T-Square a little before that. Stopped playing at T-Square around 2002 due to falling out with Mick (no blame). Continued playing at PBA until I left Arkansas in June 2006 (I think my last game there was summer 2005). Played some tourneys with Landsharks while there. Loved the Small Soldiers, Kaos, High Voltage, and Torque among others.
My best memories of Arkansas Paintball would be:
(1) 3-man tourney at Lions Den - me, my dad, and Robert Balentine. Must've been 98 or 99.
(2) 3-man tourney at Adair Adventures - me, my dad, and Josh Chance. Must've been 96 or so.
(3) 5-man tourney at APC I think in 99 or 2000? with Landsharks? Pulled the most fun crawl ever up the middle of the woods field and loved my time with that group of guys.
(4) Entire APC season with Point Blank. I really enjoyed that entire season with them, it was a treat.
Too many great memories and experiences to list. I have thought about coming back to PBA for a weekend of play, but there is literally nothing else in Arkansas for me other than paintball. I would have to say some of those times were the best paintball times of my life.
[sniff, happy tear]
Far too many people I have met and/or known through my paintball experience in Arkansas. Everyone's left a mark.
;-)
