CT Playing Guys *Help me out*
Hey guys, I'm from washington state and I'm in the US NAVY. Im stationed in Groton, CT and I've been playing tournament ball for quite some time before i joined. I was curious as to if theres any teams or anything i could hop on a few points with around here? Or anyone who plays regularly that could show me the good spots and maybe play with every weekend or something. PM me and let me know if we can set something up.

best bet would prob be Matts Outback in Coventry. NEU usually practices there. Sundays are usually best from past experience.
Hogans Alley in Meriden is typically rec ball, with the occasional team practice.
Fields of Fire just opened closer to you, but I have never been there.

For speedball you're going to want either Matt's outback (1:15 away from the base) or Warzone RI (roughly 45 minutes). There's also a woods ball/props field about 10 minutes away from you called fields of fire in mystic. Welcome to ct

Brent and Conrad both speak the truth... Here are my thoughts, Matts Outback in Coventry has without a doubt the best prices in CT and beyond period. New Regulation size X-ball field (12.5 ramp, fill stations in the pits) tire field and woodsball. Matts also has the best comp in CT home of NEU and Rod Squad.
Hogans Alley in Meriden is alright if you are looking to play recball or woodsball... They have a X-ball field (semi only, no bunkering, fill station a mile away)... Be warned Hogans is by far the most expensive field in Ct, RI, MA...
Warzone in RI From what I here has a very nice setup... Turf X-ball field (12.5, fill station close by), woodsball and airsoft. Good comp, home of New England Empire. Prices are reasonable.
My opinion is try them all and find out what works best for you...

Like Jason said Either Matts Or Warzone would be the best bet for Speedball Competition.

Just to clear up any misconceptions, Hogan's Alley has pretty much the same field rates as Matt's Outback and other fields in the area. Hogan's Alley also has a 4000 square foot retail store and they also match any competitor price, including online retailers. You can check out the prices on both websites:

I am in Groton CT for work also. If you would like to hit up Matts let me know I wouldn't mind having someone to drive back and forth with.

As for speedball rotation pricing matts is without a doubt cheaper. Wich is what he was talking about playing.

Yea I thought he was looking to hop on for a team rotation. Like said Matts or Warzone is your best bet. Depends on the weekend and how far you want to drive.

It's $15 for admission and $55 plus tax for a case. That's $73.48, if you want to get technical. Matt's offers $15 for admission and paint ranging from $45 to $70 for a case. That seems pretty similar to me. Also, Hogan's runs specials for teams looking to run scrimmages/rotations.

New England is loaded with good fields amd teams. About a 20 min ride up
I-395 is Final Shot, and an hour further (if you dont mind a little travel) is Allstarrs field. Alittle further into Mass is Fox4 (home of 187 cRew) and another 20 mins will land you at Boston paintball. All of these fields have accomplished teams, with 'competative' pricing. If your looking for indoor....theres providence and boston. if your looking for turfed fields, warzone, Boston, and Fox4. Try them all. The PB culture in NE is like no where else. For tournament play, theres only 2 fields that use the APPA system to ensure fair play. Fox 4 has Foxball (a Majors, d2? and up and a Minors d3 and down leagues) and the Northeast Paintball Series (a d4, d5 5-man, and a d3 5-man league). Boston Paintball has the NEXL (a d3 x-ball league) and NEPL( a d4, d5 5 man league, a d2? 7 man league and a bunch of pump and 3 man leagues)
good luck...we'll see you out there
