Currently looks like 2-3 shops in the running for production.. seems like the other places do not wish to return calls/emails.

Dust black is my first choice...matches my G4!!! Also requires less work to get the aluminum smooth enough for dust. Lowers the cost!
I love that sticktodrum G5 video but then I think he's generally hilarious. We will see if the G5 is better or worse than the G4 soon enough and then the haters will either be silenced or have real ammunition. Personally I want DP to NOT fail. It would be great to see them make an inexpensive gun that truly competes with the much more expensive guns out there.

I would like to see this bolt on a G5, existing TechT engine bolts cant be used in the G5, they would shred the sail o-rings...

i tried it, the ridges near the last breech oring of the G5 took a chunk of sail oring on the bolt engine.

I guess its back to the drawing boards for Techt.
And another thing, they changed the locations of the ASA vent holes, from above the ASA in the current RAPS to the bottom of the new ASA.
so no more ASA's blowing orings.

I do have a quick question though......I didn't think a TechT G4 bolthead had a sail o-ring. I thought it just has a double bumper on it.

Gif courtesy of CA Tectonics stickie thread...
A Gif showing how a Techt bolt cycles in the breech, and imagine there are ridges milled in between the middle breech oring and the last breech oring nearest the bolt stop. (see 3rd pic of said ridges)
picture copied from MahNickel's BST thread.
Picture of G4/Spec R bolt engine for reference
props for Pote's pics

Prototype quotes are in for the G3 version, just waiting on some replies regarding shipping costs for final comparisons. G4 prints are nearly ready to go out for quotes as well.

For the prototype run overseas, they were excellent.
We won't be paying $400/kit like we would if we had them made stateside XD
For the actual production runs, they're more expensive since we're going stateside, but they are not finalized yet. We're in the process of tweaking some details about the back cap, finish, anodize, etc. Although they are more since they're being made here, we will be very competitive... There's a reason why we're trying to get both the G4 and G3 bolts out and tested at the same time.. If we can leverage the shops making the parts, our overall costs will decrease.
This in turn will get passed along to our customers. AND even with them being made in the US, we will STILL remain competitive. If we went overseas for the production run, it just wouldn't be fair to the other guys.
Seriously.
