OCT 6th is columbus day and I don't know about ya'll but many of our players will probably be trying to get out of town that weekend as...well we don't get out much. And I'm sure it'll be hard to convince other players to go to a tournament on a 3 day weekend

NOV 3rd is Army vs. AF for us and is something we must attend as the game is mandatory and we are also playing the AF tournament team that week.

Posted in the Captains FB page asking about which dates work for each school. Once that is done we can start nailing down dates.

Ok everyone, here are some updates:

* NEIC Class A is:
Temple
Rutgers
USMA
Northeastern
UConn

* Given that we have 5 teams, that means everyone plays everyone else twice for a total of 20 games.

In the past, when we tried to split that over three events we had two events with 7 games and one event with 6 games. Every team had one event where they only played 2 games and play 3 games at the other events.

This generally sucked for the farther schools as they had to drive long distances for only two games.

So, I think for this season we will have two events:
-Oct 13th
-A two day event the weekend before Nationals or two weeks before

The two fields will most likely be Matt's Outback and Lainway Sports. Lainway is better distance wise for Temple, WP and Rutgers and Matt's is better for Northeastern and UConn. I'm also trying to take into account hotel costs etc to help everyone keep their costs down.

Going to run some more numbers in terms of total hours driven, number of hotel nights etc and then let everyone in the next couple days what the schedule is and where the first event is.

It's money you would have had to spend anyway. If anything, it saves the entire conference about 500 man hours of driving (10 hrs x 5 teams x 10 players).

There are really two things that caused this:

1. We didn't know who was in the conference till today.

Ideally we would do one event in mid/late Sept, one event in late Oct/early Nov and one event in March/April.

2. There are no good indoor fields near the center of the conference.

That basically knocks out playing in Feb. March is out as every weekend is at least two schools spring break/spring offensive (yeah Army!)

For #1, talk to Joe and Raehl. Having more teams in the Northeast would also make everyone's life easier and lead to closer events.

Another option: if you help other schools near you get a team started then that's a win for you (you have more people near you to play) and a win for them (they now have a team). I would love to have a conference of Penn State, Drexel, Temple, Rutgers, Lehigh, Princeton, TCNJ, Rutgers-Newark, Rutgers-Camden etc etc

Yea I would really like to get the ball rolling on this. The sooner we have our dates the better. Last event was a little chaotic.
