What to look for when buying used?
Hello, my name is Shea i'm 19 just finally going to pick up my first gun tonight !!
I'm the occasional rec player (renting), but grew tired of getting murdered by men, kids with guns that shoot better than the Tippman 98 Custom.
I'm getting the Gen 3 Invert Mini, is there anything i should look for when trying it out, the owner went into town to get the tanks filled for me too shoot it before purchasing, so he seems very trust worthy and sounds like he took care of it !

Put some air on it and listen for leaks.
Put a fresh battery in it and see if it powers up.
Look for any screws that are stripped, missing, damaged.
If he lets you I would dry fire it a few times or if you shoot a little paint.
Cant think of anything else.

Look the gun over to make sure what he said goes along with how it looks. Look at the breach see if it looks worn out. If it seems legit it should be. For example if you saw pics of it and in person it has scratches I would probably stay away. Basically just make sure it looks the condition stated, and if it shoots fine it should be ok

A better gun will not make you a better player.

The other guys pretty much summed it up for you. If you're getting a Mini btw, you will also need an electronic hopper and HPA tank with it.

I agree but sometimes its also hard to compete with guys who are shooting tournament level guns and you have a mechanical tippman.
But it depends alot on the field you play also. If your not playing speedball or if there are large teams it makes the marker less significant.

No prob! I highly recommend you look at the B/S/T forum here on PbNation to buy gear in the future. It is full of like brand new gear for good prices.

Very true statement, but a new gun does open doors for you. You can't go and play speedball with a Spyder like you can with, say an Empire Axe.
