I think I'm about the only one in here that uses Rhino, everyone else is using solidworks, inventor or other software. Coming from an art background with no real life manufacturing experience thats what you get tho. There is some serious talent in here and if you have any cad questions this is the place to ask them.

Hahah trust me you're not the only one man! I have been using rhino for a long time now! and had several jobs using it, including my current job for certain projects. Rhino is hands down an amazing surface modeler! anyone that says otherwise clearly knows nothing about the software! But sadly when it comes to manufacturing, rhino just isn't there yet haha
I was in the same boat as y'all many years ago, I did all of my designs and renderings in Cinema4D. Started having massive troubles with file exporting/etc when I finally got the opportunity to take my designs to manufacture / production, so taught myself how to surface in solidworks and havn't looked back since.

But that's awesome. Working with Autodesk Revit Architecture right now. Not as much CAD, but still I feel it's correlated. Designing, building, etc. Oh and things break

I've done Revit. Very cool software with a great file sharing/access concept.
alex, that was a fun marker to test/shoot/abuse, i love the lines and the feel of it in my hands. i wish that it actually made it to market and not pirated from taiwan...

Agreed. The one I have is mounted on my desk, it was one of the most comfortable guns I've shot. Shame it didn't get the love internally that I put into it externally.
I don't know if this is the right place to ask or not, but I currently have some limited access to a 3D printer and was wondering if anyone have cad files on the ion xe powertube? or know where I can get them? Just so I get the insides done correctly and can consentrate on the outsides.
I can't show any CAD Models and/or design pictures but this what I have been working on. (not the whole thing) Most of the parts I'm working on are in the top nose piece (TDACS )

Is it possible to import a Rhino file into solidworks or is it better for me to do a technical drawing and let the person machining the item build the model?
