AK and AR prices since election! Come discuss!
Hey guys, I'm here to catch you're opinion on the prices of the beloved AK and AR rifles. Recently, the prices on these guns have been going up, as well as inventories are limited because of an increase in demand. I've personally noticed this because I'm in the market for an AK47 variant (nothing against ARs, they are great, but as much as I'll be shooting and for what i'll be using it for I'll take the affordability of the AK platform) and everywhere I go they are either out or getting increasingly pricey.
So judging either by opinion or past experience; what do you think will happen to supply and prices?

I would ask this question again in either the OSST: Firearms Discussion Thread or the Small Talk: Firearms Discussion Thread as it will probably generate more responses.
I'm not sure what to think though. Everyone is panicking and buying all of this stuff driving up the prices for no reason.

Is it any different than the last election? Maybe, less people might be fear hoarding and panic buying this time. Either wait it out or get what you want early.

How long do you think waiting it out might be though? I might run the risk of waiting and then when a restriction bill comes up that would only further the panic and in turn continue to drive up prices... I suppose buying now would be safest. I just hate the idea of paying 20% more for something just because of political nonsense.

Lol, no. Not happening. If you think it is, then explain how it would pass.

stop being one of the people that drive up costs, especially on ammo.

Such a bill would never pass through the Republicans in congress.

whoa whoa whoa, i'm not saying that a bill WOULD PASS or necessarily that it would even make it that far HOWEVER all it would take is merely the idea being passed around with some support (further than simply being mentioned). I'm not in the group driving prices up, i'm the guy that is sick of it and wishes my day at the range wouldnt be so damn expensive because of some dick in the white house throwing around hollow threats and boneheads responding by buying up inventory. Obviously with the help of the republicans and the place the NRA holds with lobbying we should be fine. All i wanted out of this was opinions pertaining to my quarrel; buy now and eat the increased cost or wait for the hype to die down and buy later.

I looked briefly at an AR when I went to buy ammo a week ago. It was $60 less than it was before the election.

I dont see prices coming down anytime soon. Once people are comfortable paying X amount for a product, the manufacturers and distributors arent going to drop the prices just because they feel its the right thing to do.

Unless demand drops and they are overstocked.
But everyone was already at max capacity before the election so I doubt it.
