First Shot Soft on G4?

Noticed during my last outing that the very first shot at the beginning of every game was a bit soft (lower velocity I am guessing). This only happened after the gun was idle for 10+ minutes. I am guessing there might be a small leak somewhere that depressurizes the bolt a little. Any ideas?

take off the lube and relube it again but very lightly or just increase your ABS if it has adjustment. you might have to increase your dwell to 12. if its already at 12 increase it to 14.

you are having a first shot drop off usually cause by too much lube or not enought lube, worn oring, battery power is too low and dwell might be set too low.

what grease are you using? what is your dwell setting? do you have a fresh battery?

dwell of 12ms and 1ms abs tends to be perfect for the g4 after it has been gone completly through with a good quality grease (not dp40 grease!!)

tempature is also a factor. try 13 or 14 ms dwell for temps under 50*f

Hater Sauce. Factory default dwell (don't remember what it is). Will change out battery.

Is dwell of 12ms recommended period, or only if you have first shot drop off?

12 is stock and 11 usually works great in the summer.

hater sauce is not a good lube for dp guns. try lurker lube, its a cheep alternative and has always worked really well on both my teams g4s and my g3s. we never experience fsdo.

As it gets colder go with a thinner lube and raise the dwell 1 or2 ms is what I usually do see if it helps

If it happens after the gun being idle then its bolt stick, the orings could also be an issue. If it were the orings it would be the middle one and the one closest to the back cap. I would definitely increase the dwell it increases your reliability but slightly decreases for max ROF. Lube shouldn't be a big issue as long as you don't have the stock lube, i personally have never seen DP-40 lube before but from reading forums i guess its not the greatest.

Bolt stick - increase the dwell. The difference between 12 and 14 are so minute you won't even notice the difference in the amount of pods you get.

Use thinner lube for the winter time also. Gun Sav works great in the winter.
