Most jews came/come from socialist/communist countries. One only has to take a look at the Kibbutz movement to realize this.

From the men and women I know who emigrated after Russia was no longer the USSR, I would think that their origin countries (the Jew's who were raised in the socialist/communist counties) would have motivated them AWAY from socialist/communist and associated philosophies.

Many of those that were the first settlers of israel came from from socialist/communist countries in the 40's.

I can't explain that other than that is what they are used to. Though the whole kibbutz movement is coming back in a big way or so I was told. I've been to a Kibbutz in Israel that is not something I am interested in.

The honest reason why most american jews vote democratic? They are told to do so by their parents.

That is contradictory to the whole "Question everything" attitude I've always gotten from Judaism.

I understand that. Apparently the question everything attitude make for a good environment to create new products but the issue then becomes that once they have a new product, have brought it to market, everyone still questions everything which makes running a long term business in Israel difficult. That is just was I was told.


I guess I don't know the answer but I'm just throwing out Ideas as to why based on my what I have expierenced

Jews are relatively secular. Most studies show those Synagogue attenence rates that identify as culturally jewish is relatively low. Conservatism is always portrayed (fairly or not) as being against secularism.

Secondly, Jews are highly educated. The higher education you have, statistically, the more likely you are to vote liberal.

Thirdly, 35% of Jews fall under reformed Judiasm, an inherently liberal theology.

Finally, we can see the Jewish voting for the Dems drastically increased since the early 90s, in line with the rise of the "America is a Christian Nation" ideology.
