dye dm13 power/battery prong issue
hello guys. I got the dye dm13 not even a month old. been having a problem with it ever since I got it, and yes I bought it new. the problem I'm having is it won't stay on. the metal battery prong is the issue. I turn gun on it wants to go on turns off immediately with the slightest movement. the only way I can keep it working is wedging little piece of cardboard between top of battery and frame so prong don't move forward. I paid all this money for the gun and this is aggravating. is this a problem for anyone else? Iall this money I should not have to wedge cardboard in to keep it on. it does not always work either but does help.

Bend down the prong, but don't break it. That is all you need to do to fix this problem.

If that doesn't work, call Dye. you have a month-old brand new gun, they should support you if it's still stock.

I've found that some batteries fit a little differently then others... it could be the battery brand.

Fold a business card or something and put it under the battery.

its not the gun's fault, not all 9 volts are built to the same specs.

hmm. yea I was figuring it could be battery but I tried 3 different brands. the one dye gives you some medical grade Duracell and zynex or something like that. and no even the day I got the gun there was no black rubber piece between prongs and board. gun was sealed. at least I don't recall a rubber piece. by any chance would the black rubber piece for battery work? the batteries I got have a black rubber protector on them.

Fits between the prongs and the frame, above the battery. If it's missing, the prongs will bend and the battery will not stay in contact.
If you never got one, call Dye.

Post a picture of your board/battery so I don't have to guess what you are talking about.

I run Lithium-ion 9v in every thing I own they seem to fit tighter, and last longer. I even buy them for my Rotor and never have battery issues.

Seems like alot of problems with the battery prongs. From not making contact to breaking off completely in DM 11+.

As previously stated its the issue of batteries having different sized terminals. From what I have found Energizer fits the dm's the best and are least likely to cause prong problems and Duracell fits very tight, which can cause issues but work fine as long as you are careful.
