So, I amtrying to hook my computer up to my tv. My computer doesn't have a HDMI outlet so I am using a VGA port. The picture comes up great, but I can't get any sound. I tried plugging in the red and white audio connectors to both my tv and the back of my comuter and still nothing. Anyone have any ideas? I have never done this before, so I am kind of wingin' it right now lol.

vga analog video only. that works so good

If you are ok with analog audio, plug a wire into the speaker jack of your computer (usually the lime green port) which is 3.5mm at one end and red/white rca at the other. Plug the red/white into the tv.

Vga wont transmit audio, your best bet is to use AUX cable with a 3.5mm aux plug to RCA

Like plug the aux into the headphone jack into the computer then aux jack into the female plug of the rca splitter,

Your problem is probably that the RCA jacks are paired to a different video input source - I ran into the same thing with a Sceptre TV at my uncle's. There was, however, a standard 3.5mm jack paired with the VGA input. Using a 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male cable from the headphone/stereo jack to the TV worked. Check your TV's manual if you have it.
