demon air efficiency/ tank recommendation
Hello,
I will be getting a new 2013 demon soon and will need a tank as well. I play snake and shoot about 5-6 pods a game. I like having a 45/4500 bc its smaller and im worried about the 68/4500 making the gun too long and not comfortable. Will a 45/4500 meet my needs? And what are people using for tanks on their demon?
Thanks!

Yes, you will be fine.
I'd recommend the Ninja SMP 550 regulator.

Will an adjustable ninja regulator work just as well?

It will. I would adjust it to 550

You can shoot more air out of your tank before the reg starts having shoot down. I.E. 550 psi remaining as opposed to 800 psi.

Yup, that will happen because there is less pressure on the regulator. Just adjust velocity like normal. The other advantages are that the 550 being sent to your gun is easier on the regulator because the regulator now only needs to regulate from 550 down to 90-125 depending on what Demon you are shooting. That will slightly increase efficiency too. However if you go too much lower than the 550 input, you run the risk of not being able to collapse the spring properly which will result in low FPS, poor recharge (shoot down) or just not shooting at all.

Reaper I'm considering a 2013 demon trade for my g6r. Higher i have 3 tank regs all SLP. Because of your statement I'm assuming the demon reg is spring operating not a shim stack? I can even run my 08 ego on SLP, but I'm guessing you all have done the testing and it won't reach full velocity with SLP. Lmk thanks. Side note: if the demon now operates at 90 psi why not design the regulator to accept lower inputs to get better efficiency and even less strain on regulator with SLP? Just wondering thanks.

I use a Dye 92/4500 with a SMP reg. I like the stretch on it. Feels good, plus I only need air every 2 or 3 games lol. Beats waiting in line.

The SLP regulator will not work on the Demon. And yes we use a spring not a shim stack. Not sure why we don't try a lighter spring to allow the use of a lower output regulator, except that the SLP is a pretty specific reg and generally people tend to have HP though MP is becoming more of a norm.

Lower pressure doesn't always equate to better efficiency. There are optimum settings on every gun/reg. I'm sure the regulator could be redesigned to work with an SLP but in reality, most people don't use them so it's not that big of a deal.
I guess if someone had some shims they could replace their spring and experiment a bit to see if it will run on SLP with any reliability.

Not to say Reaper is wrong...
But my Demon worked fine with my SLP.

We had too many experiences with shoot down at that low. You are right, some worked fine, but it is not consistent enough for us to recommend it.

It'll fail on you at some point.......it just needs the proper conditions lol.
It's like running your dwell really low. It may work great today.....it may work great tomorrow but in the long run it's going to sting you.
