What are the different types of games??
Sorry about this, but I haven't been able to find out what airball is. Woodsball is self explanatory, and I thought speedball was like tournament games with the inflatable bunkers, but to me airball is where everybody misses. What gives? On our home field, we usually play straight elimination or some variation of capture the flag.

Speedball is not always played on an air field. Some smaller local fields use self made "bunkers" out of plywood, barrels etc. to make a "Speedball" Field.
Airball is speedball played on a field with Blow-up bunkers.
As far as game formats go, typically speedball is played as a elimination style format where the first team to eliminate the opposing teams players wins. Some local fields may run a slight variation of this with capture the flag/center flag formats.
Capture the flag (used in woodsball and speedball) require you to pull the flag from the opposing teams starting point(deadbox) or castle and return it to your teams starting point(deadbox) or castle.
Center Flag is primarily used in Speedball(airball). A flag is placed in the center of the field. In order to win the game you have to pull the flag and touch it to the opposing teams start box.
These two formats allow for the game to be won with players on the opposing team to still be "Live".

speedball is essentialy tournament games with inflatable bunkers to put it simply lol. as far as airball being where everyone misses, thats incorrect! airball is all about strategy and really is just a game of angles. people miss because of gun skills and poor angles.

Thanks for clearing this up for me. Before I got into paintball, the only "airball" was when you (badly) missed a shot in basketball!

It is not that people are missing because of poor angles and gunskills. The Military uses the same method, and calls it "supressive Fire" you are shooting at them, to keep them in their cover, so you may move to a more adventageous cover spot from which you may shoot them, and not just at them.
That being said, speedball can be played on any type of field, although it should be Mirrored(identical bunkers on each side of the field in Identical locations.) to make it fair to both teams. this is just easier to do with airball bunkers.

Typically, speedball is played on a grassy open field, surrounded by netting. Depending on format, there are 3man, 5man, 7man, and even 10man teams. Bunkers are typically mirrored on both sides. The two leagues I play in, MAPL, and PSP, use the Center Flag format. Very fast-paced game type, huge adrenaline rush. I can never get enough of it.

From the little bit of research I've done, it seems to work like this:
It's on an airball court.
You score points by hitting targets set up on the other teams side.
There are 4 five minute quarters. Targets are reset every quarter.
Instant respawn, so there are always 5 players on a team.
Check them out on Facebook at Gridfighters leauge, or at Gridfighters.com
