All around cost of playing a PSP tournament?
Hi so I was wondering the average/estimated total funds to play a single PSP tournament for a single person. I don't want a cost for say a pro team or higher divisions that have some help from sponsors and such. Let's say a d4 or d3 player going with a team. Let's include flights, hotel, food, paintball itself, EVERYTHING! Any experience from it and any other type of help would be great. Thanks!

If you are looking to play D4 race to 2, which would be the cheapest, then you have $1000 for the entry, expect so shoot an estimate of 20 cases of paint at say 35 each. Hotels you can probably find for $80 a night and you would have 8 players plus your staff, so 12 people for 3 rooms. Car rental would be able $30 a day and expect to have the car for 3 days and getting 3 of them. Food is whatever people want to do, but expect 100 per person for food for the weekend to be safe. This isn't including you ID card, but that is separate.
So 1700 for entry and paint divided by 8 is about $215 per player
Flight will be anywhere for 300-500, so say 400 per person to be safe.
270 for the cars divided by 12 which is $23 per person.
food is 100 per person
Hotel would be 720 divided by 12 which is 60 per person.
So you are looking at about $800 per player and about $585 for each staff/nonplayer.

It really depends on what event you play, how early you book the flight, and what your hotel/car arrangements are. Look to spend anywhere from $700-1000 per event.

Strange, these prices seem astronomical, I pay $300-400 per event. I don't fly however, so that could be one reason

^ Yea flights, and if you're playing Race-2 D5 its $1,100 for entry (WC for example) vs. $2,750 for Race-4 D3x.

All depends. There are several sponsorship programs out there to make costs cheaper. My team played PSP MAO this past year, and got a deal on paint through the Empire Imperial Program. $30 per case for a normally $70 case of GI 4-star paint. All we had to do was wear their stickers on all of our pods, hoppers, and masks. We played D4 Race to 4. D4 Race to 2 would be the cheapest for you though. Not as much competition as Race to 4 though.

Like Action said, I've found the average cost to be between 700 to 1000 dollars.

Flying tends to be the biggest factor in the total cost so if you can find a way to cut that out then more power to you.
