Quick v2 valve keg oring size question

In the manual it shows all 3 valve keg Orings as 1x17's. But in the oring thread it shows the front 2 as 1x17's and the rear one as a 1x15. Which is correct?

It's 2 x 17x1's and 1 x 15x1.

The manual is a misprint. The oring thread is correct.

What about on the v1 valve? When I put a 1x15 the gun won't shoot. Then I use 3 1x17 it shoots fine. Obviously the answer is to use 3 1x17's. Just wondering why my valve keg is like this

That's very strange. The valve isn't what changed, it was just the valve keg. So it doesn't matter what version of the Clone you have (other than the GT), the valve will have a 17x1 o-ring for the front two, and a 15x1 for the rear one.

Remove all o-rings from your valve and put on a new 15x1 and test fit it into the valve keg. Make sure you can feel the o-ring contacting the valve keg and forming a seal. If you do this and get a properly fitting 15x1 o-ring on there then it should work without issue.

Perhaps you could give a better description of the problem? Is it leaking? What do you mean when you say it won't shoot? What is it doing exactly?

Tried 8 diffrent 1x15's. None worked. Any of my 1x17's will work. With the 15 it doesnt seem to do more than just load a ball into the barrel. Every so often with will actually fire one but it will only be around 125fps. With a 17 on the back it's 300 +/-2

V1 valve kegs used a 15 on the back too?

Unless there are some early parts that I'm not aware of, all valves accept the same size o-rings with the 1x15 on the back. The V2 parts included a new style valve keg, but that just changed the slots on the keg over to holes so it minimized the risk of shredding the middle valve o-ring...they didn't have a V2 valve, just the valve keg.

I mean if what you're doing works then I guess that's good it's shooting consistently, but I'm still a bit stumped. Any way you could take a picture of your valve and post it?

Sure give me a bit. I bought the gun used. Will a Druid valve fit in a clone? I wonder if the previous owner put a diffrent valve keg in it

Everything there looks proper. The droid keg will not fit a clone, and a droid valve has standard 017 o-rings on it as well.

If you put a 1x15 o-ring on the bottom of the valve (based on pic) and hand fit it into the valve keg do you feel contact being made (with all other o-rings on the valve removed)?

I mean at the end of the day if you have it shooting properly I would just use it and see how it behaves on the field. I've never heard of anything like this though.

With the 15 I don't feel contact or maybe very slight contact. With the 17 you can feel good contact with out being tight per say

Wondering if maybe you got a bad batch of 15's, perhaps the tolerance on them is slightly under. You should only feel contact with the 15 when the valve is almost all the way into the keg, like just the last 1/8 - 1/4" of the keg is the only place it makes actual contact.

I get what your saying. The 17 contacts just like your talking about. The 17 almost snaps into place. But not to the point that it binds at all. As for the 15's being bad ill order another batch off mcmasters tomorrow and report back in a few days

Some one asked me about this today. For the record I did have a batch of bad 15x1's. Got some new ones and the 15x1's work great. However I didn't see any negative side effects from using a 17x1 on the rear of the valve. Food for thought if your in a pinch

Thanks for the update. That makes sense that you had a bad batch as I was definitely scratching my head on this one. Sometimes o-rings that are too small or too large (depending on the application) will still work, just not ideally.

yeah 1x17 on all of them will work but you will lose some efficiency.
