Facebook promoted posts violate rules

Has anyone else had trouble promoting their posts on Facebook because it violates FBs rules? I advertised a 10 percent off sale last week and it bounced it back saying it violates the terms of use because paintball is not allowed? I know I've seen all kinds of other stores, fields, manufacturers, etc. all making and promoting posts without problems.

Anyone have some advice? Has anyone had this problem as well?

We use it all the time, not sure why you are having a problem.

Mine have been denied lately, too. And it is driving me crazy. Submit a report here: https://www.facebook.com/help/contac...52940643&rdrhc. Once you do that, they will normally send an apology and reinstate it. But it is starting to be a royal pain in the butt to have to do it for every single promo. Their policy is:

One or more of the ads you set up do not meet our guidelines and has been disapproved.
Please check your Ads Manager and edit any ads that have been disapproved. Your account was not charged for ads that were not approved.

Reason(s):

We do not allow ads for ammunition, firearms, Paintball guns, BB guns, or other weapons, including but not limited to: knives, daggers, swords, bows, arrows, knuckle dusters, and nunchucks.

My argument is that I am not promoting or selling "paintball guns" but an experience "playing" paintball at a safe commercial field. All of our ads/promos have been coupons for $$$ off entry, special events like an opportunity to scrimmage with Houston Heat, etc.

Lately, the ad is reinstated but five seconds later I receive another email denying the very same ad again.

Received the following after the last promotion:

Hi, We've noticed that you are currently running Facebook Ads that violate our Advertising Guidelines or Terms of Use. It is important to us that a personís experience with Facebook ads enhances their overall experience on Facebook. Our advertising system aims to show the most highly-relevant, social ads that provide value to each user. Continuing to run and create ads that violate our policies may result in additional action being taken on your account, including possible termination. Please refer to our Advertising Guidelines for more information at: http://www.facebook.com/ad_guidelines.php Thanks for your cooperation, The Facebook Ads Team

At this point I am ready to throw my hands up. The way they are now posting items to newsfeed .... er, rather not posting... is the reason why I have been promoting what I feel are important posts. Out of close to 1100 "likes", most posts are now only show up in less than 300 newsfeeds.

Of course, it would be much easier to be able to TALK to a real person via telephone about the problem(s) but have yet to find a contact number to do so.

Sounds like an auto response to the keyword "paintball".

So the work around is to of course advertise you paintball field without using the offending word. Yeah, pain in the rear.

Is the Facebook account set up as a business? If not, that may be the reason.

Yes, mine is setup as a business. I'm having the paintball autoban feature go on. I even made sure in my last post to not advertise paintball at all in the post, never mentioned a gun or marker, nothing. Just stop by the store and pick something out for christmas with your parents kind of post. Nope, still didnt work.

"Russian Brides" is now slang for "Paintball." Spread the word.
