DM5 questions

So, I picked up a DM5 recently and I have had no complaints with the marker. However, the previous owner evidently stripped out the eye cover plate screw. Now I can't remove the plate on one side and I have to clean the eye and detent from the breach. What should I do?

Also, the feed neck is on pretty tight and I can't get it off the marker. It is not the stock one and from what I can tell it is called a hybrid hedlock. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance guys.

You can try carefully super gluing a small Allen into the eye cover screw.

For the French it might be loctited in there just heat it up as hot as you can get it a hair dryer should work then use a strap wrench or worst case scenario, vice grips/wrench/vice using a leather belt or similar to protect the feedneck

Wow. That superglue trick is brilliant. Thank you so much.

As for the feedneck, I was afraid it might be loctite. However, I did not know it reacted to heat like that. I'll give it a try when I get back from the field tomorrow.

Thanks for the help.

Edit: do you know if the eye screw is the same as the newer DM's?

If you can't get it out the other option is drilling the eye screw hole bigger and use a extractor tool, but then the eye plate looks ugly but you get the cover off.
