Interest in a Pump Tournament?

If I could get up an incredibly affordable pump tournament at Dans Land, maybe at the end of December or the first of the year, 3 or 5 Man, Xball or Round Robin, would there be any interest in it? Also, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Cool idea, but a tournament would mean that field is unavailable to other players... and pump guys aren't exactly revenue generators for a field.

You'd have to have a super cooperative field owner or a place that wouldn't have had the walk on players either way...

Good point. So, instead of a pump "tournament" howabout a day where everyone who plays pump meet up and play rec ball? That way anyone could join in?

I'm not tryin to shoot ya down. Talk to your field owners, you never know.

You just need to make sure they make enough $$$ to make it worthwhile.

Hit up NoClue119 (Ying). I'm sure he'd love to help you figure it out.

I'll be the first to say I'm IN....Nitro can do this....somebody bring me something to work with and i'll try and make it happen....it can't always be about $$$...not saying I don't like $$$... but I love paintball

Sounds great! I could only make the drive to Nitro on a Saturday, but if you get something up post it up! I was thinking Dans Land because I would have to coordinate it and set it up, but if Nitro hosts a pump event, I'd be down!

I'm sure our team that played cup will play and talk to divinity they sent a pump team to cup too.

I think it would be a great idea, there is not enough pump play around here(where i am anyway). I agree it should be at Nitro, Don't know about Dans lands speedball field(havent been there in awhile)but nitro's speedball field is amazing.

and I don't agree with this comment. Is it just cause us pump players don't shoot the amounts of paint other players do? I have been to scenarios where I have played pump and shot just as much paint if not more than some electro players

C'mon. Really? There's no way you shoot as much paint in a set time with a pump as a guy in 12.5bps ramping.. don't be silly.

But the statement is not a false one. Most field owners are in this thing to make money. They're unlikely to "rope off" one of their fields for an event like this. Especially if they have only one airball field.

Mario is always the exception. He's in this thing for the players. He offered to host, but one of you pump guys is gonna have to step up to organize.

So there you have it... slgowner talk to Dan or someone on the northside contact Mario to run it.

We've had pump days in the past at classic and had 15+ turn out but a tournament might be pushing it. You need to post this on mcb if you haven't already, thats where most of the pump/old school guys dwell anymore.

Or howabout a 'pump day'? Get 10 pump players so we can have 5v5's but regular open play can walk on.
