I've been considering swapping G6r color accent parts with other gun owners. People are nervous about doing it. I also heard that it was not a good idea to do? Why? Is this true?

I don't know why it would be a bad idea. It's just a matter of personal preference. As long as the accents are manufactured consistently and don't cause leaks due to variations (ie Bodyhalves) you should be fine.

Pretty sure large lots of parts are made at BLAST then sent to anno. The parts are identical just different colors after anno. Pretty sure BLAST has big boxes of different anno colors waiting to be assembled for custom orders. You my friend are just taking the long route and making that custom look after leaving the manufacture.

All this hinges on the parts being is good condition ie no pry marks etc.

Thanks all. I feel much better about doing it now. I guess some people are nervous about swapping parts because of the chance of different parts not matching up and mating properly causing leaks.

i could theoretically swap the front and back body halves for someone elses that has an '11 if i have a '12 no problem right? The only thing i am worried about is actually taking of the top shrader valve between the hpr and the front body half. I know it can be done but the odds of one of the two swappers damaging it are probably not as low as a simple accents or back half swap. and if so is it an infraction to post that request here in the timmy forums or do we have a designated g6r part swapping thread?

It will work fine with no issues if you know what you are doing. That's what I did to my personal g6
