Some people don't mind the composite markers (like the Etha, Etek LT, PMR, etc) while others despise it. The main difference that I've noticed is that the composite can bend before snapping, while aluminum just dents. A friend of mine has an Etek 3 LT and it works just fine. The composite others him a bit on parts like the feedneck where there is always tension, but it works just the same.
I would personally prefer to use an all aluminum marker, but that is not to say that I would be upset if I had to use a marker with composite parts. Its all just personal opinion.
