g6r leak question???

ok I might be crazy or making a big deal out of something that isn't a big deal or a problem.

My g6r leaks air out the little hole in the reg when I first air it up. I do not remember it ever doing this before. It also shoots air out the little hole every time I shoot it. I do not remember it ever doing this before.

Is this a problem? If so how can I fix it. I have tried everything I can think of. All orings are brand new. Entire gun was maintenanced.

Please help!!!

here is a video clip of me airing the g6r up.

Clean it. It is purging to save the guns internals. Just take it apart clean it, check your orings and relube it using Dow55.
If that doesn't fix it, then don't worry. That hole is there for a reason. As long as a large amount of air isn't coming out per shot.

It's enough air that I can feel it pretty good threw the tape. I will try taking it apart and cleaning it again though. I just replaced every oring in the gun though and cleaned and lubed it all. Using Dow 55.

If I put a wrong size oring inside the gun somewhere would it cause this issue? Even if the oring on the piston in the reg is right? Say the wrong oring size inside the body or on the popit.

That would cause more then just a little air coming out of your reg. you would have more issues.
Try taking the tape off of over the hole.

Ok I will try that.

Also this problem didn't start until the new orings were put in.

Someone told me it could be the pin inside the reg with the spring on it. I took it out and cleaned it as the oring looked good on it. I didn't replace that one because I didn't know what size it is. I can post a picture of the pin if I'm not describing it well.

Also, take your orings out and put them in a bag overnight in dow55 (not a lot, just enough to coat them) then install them. It could be that the dow55 just hasn't had time to seal the new orings.

They have been in the gun for like a week now with Dow 55 on them. I was thinking maybe I just had to shoot it a little bit to maybe set the new orings. But I don't want to less it up. Plus 2 people on my team just put all new orings in their g6r's and they aren't having this problem.

Could my pressures just he off? Maybe I'm not getting an accurate reading from my pressure tester anymore.

Did you swap out the gauges? The stock ones are not that accurate or reliable. If you have friends with g6rs and they have a pressure tester, I would check with theirs too just to make sure. You could always sweet spot your regs too. It's on page 4 of the stickies.

I saw that and was reading about how to do it. I am going to read it again when I'm at my computer in the morning.

This purging is gettin on my nerves. 3 days I've spent trying to fix it and I refuse to let anyone else work on my gun or send it to blast.

I just can't think of any orings I might have knocked loose or missed when changing them all. I even dropped the solenoid to put a new eye ribbon cable in so I know that oring up there was cleaned and has fresh Dow 55 on it.

Alright, just check your pressures with a new tester. Also, change your gauges. Is all of your shim stack still there?

The shim stack is still there. All together. I took it apart and cleaned it. It's all together correctly. I didn't put any Dow on it at all

I did what you said. I even triple checked my stack and its all good. I took apart my LPR again and inspected it, cleaned it, and put new dow 55 on it. Put all new dow 55 in the reg piston. took the front of the gun off and checked those three orings also and the were good. cleaned the popit again and put new dow 55 on it. It is still purging every shot.

I adjusted the pressures again to the point where it just starts cycling and lowered my HPR pressure. degassed it and aired it back up and it started to continually leak out of the purge hole until i started firing the marker.

Please let me know if there is anything else i can do or if this is just how the gun functions. I dont remember having this problem before.

maybe look at replacing your schrader(SP) valve, but I would probably talk to a bob long tech before doing that?

At HB, when my G6R was acting crazy, they replaced my schrader valve and told me not to cover the hole with grip tape...

I have no idea what that is. I tried looking it up in the manual but it's not there. What and were is this valve at? I might look up the number and call blast tomorrow.
