Movie will only be good if actual people who play characters in the game are in the the movie. For example, Adam Baldwin, Yvonne Strahovski, Seth Green, etc.

I'm really hoping they avoid the Shepard story all together.

I can agree with that. Either 1) explain ****! or 2) have a completely different story within the mass affect universe. Maybe a lead-in to a 4th game?

I imagine following another Spectre, and make them like a James Bond type character trying to uncover a lower level plot. Not saving the universe, but maybe trying to bring down a terrorist or crime boss. Like Casino Royale in space.
The only problem with that is the main character really has to be human, and if he/she is also a Spectre, they have to set it after the games.

They need to avoid Shepard completely. The only feasible thing I could see being done with Shepard is one of the ME4 concepts that involves post-ME3 universe, and that is just a cameo.
Its just too easy for people to have wildly different views on who Shepard is and what defines him/her.
Mass Effect movie imo would be awesome if it follows Saren's fall.

Yeah that wouldn't work that well.

It bodes well for the movie that the new writer is a fan of the games, and that it's Legendary Pictures behind it. Legendary seems to be a company that tends to let the creatives do what they want with a movie. If the writer is any good, and a decent director is attached, it might be decent movie.
Has there ever been a good movie based on a video game?

I'd be interested in seeing the movie, but I've long since been out of ME when I traded my Xbox to my buddy for his PS3, then later sold the PS3.
All I have now is a PS2. I don't play very much anymore, and well all the new DLC for ME3 is making me Jelly.

How about the star is a volus and the movie is about resetting the global economy after the reaper war.

Recently bought the Mass Effect Trilogy for the 360 because I wanted to play through the games again, but I also wanted to sit in my comfy chair to do it. ME1 is buggy and doesn't run well on the Xbox, but it's still just...awesome. I don't care what anyone says, even with the ME3 ending, these are some of the best games of the generation.

ME3 has been buggy in the multiplayer recently. Just upgraded my rig so the story plays like butter, but the MP is always so temperamental

The Citadel DLC is easily the best DLC Bioware has ever made.

I was wondering when this thread would pop back up
I played halfway through the DLC, then realized that not everyone was invited to my party. I stopped, and will play it again right before I go attack cerberus.
I did notice that the writing seems to be more...how to put it...slap-happy than the normal game. Everyone is making quips and short remarks about the "good ole days." Not that they dont bring a smile to my face, but just somethign that stands out.
anyone else wish that you could now have Aria as a romance option after Omega? Or at least invite her to your party so she could be a ***** to your friends?
p.s. ninja my wife is powering through Veronica Mars series. Watched several episodes. Ms. Bell is looking hotter and hotter.

Bioware got a bunch of the people who were behind the "Retake Mass Effect" movement to brainstorm this DLC. It is a total fan service without a doubt. Everything in it is a reference to something from ME1, ME2, or ME3.
It is pretty much the "I'm sorry our ending sucked a major dick" salute to the fans.

Good to hear. I'm still working on playing through the series again before I get to 3's DLC but I've kind of got sidetracked by DMC, then Metal Gear and now Tomb Raider.

Time to just start this game again period. I took a HUGE detour on my second play through by stopping and not coming back to it. Then again, 200+ hours on Borderlands 2 really doesn't help anything...
