Look in the BST forum here. You'll learn a lot if you pay attention.

Open class phantom. My favorite setup would be to buy a used phantom with an open class body and a veritcal air kit. Add an L -stock and a 4oz tank directly from Mike at CCI. You should be able to get that easily for under 300. If you want the next level, I think you should get the rainman undercocking kit for the phantom. Love it.

Sorry, but the Empire Sniper is probably the best value in pump guns right now, even considering average used market prices.

I mean, look what you get:
Mid-block: No more mask-smack, particularly good for those unaccustomed to snipers.
Barrel kit: 3 great bore options in a long control bore and a classy look.
Center-feed: It's just better, most of the time. The used market is likely around 50% RF guns, though not in BST.
Spring/SC feed: While not true SC legal, it's a pretty rare option to have from the factory.
On/Off: Duh.
Clamping feedneck: It's even removable.
"Hitmen mod": not for everyone, but another thing a lot of "new" pumpers like.
Auto-trigger: This option alone blows the majority of the used market out of the water, not to mention any new guns in it's price range.

This is great advice for someone wanting an entry level and getting most bang for the buck. If you decide pump is where you want to stay for a bit then you can start looking at other guns and don't rely on posts on forums find em and shoot em so you can see the differences. Find what works for you. You want some smooth ccms to shoot find a Greifer none of us ever mind handing them out to try.

The longer control bore that the empire pump comes with isn't just for looks its completely functional in design and a great bonus.

I dont use the Hitman mod for the conventional use that they promote it with.. I like it for the AT side of things. Still awesome that the gun actually comes with it.
