Ano tech is probably one of the few I would trust. It seems fx anodizing does a good job also from what I hear/see

I have had a number of guns done by AnoTech. I have been very impressed with their quality, turn around time, and pricing. Here's the latest one I received back a few weeks ago.

how do you tell for sure if there is an RT valve in your viking without totally disassembling it?

You can remove the bolt and look at the hammer.

Thanks skinny.. when you pull the cartridge out you can also tell by looking down the tube and seeing the brass color of the valve too right?

Yes, that would work too. What I was saying is you should be able to just pull the bolt out and look in the slot that the bolt pin goes into. The hammers are made of different metals and have a distinctly different color as well as slightly different shape. That way you don't even need to remove the cartridge.

As you can see, the robtown (top) is noticeably lighter and a bit duller in appearance, as well as a little shorter.

Interesting. The hammer in my Viking seems like the stock one.. But the valve looks brass.

Turns out the original owner got the valve before the lightened hammer and ram came with it.

Ive been debating getting my raw javelin barrel annoed to match my evil M for the stock look, but if Im never going to use it is it worth it? I was thinking of just getting a CP tip matched instead but idk.

That would be cool. An old school AKA barrel on a new school M. Might be a cool throwback to the roots.

I will probably get it annoed since I already have it in addition to a barrel tip. Whats $10 more in the scheme of things, especially with this project?
