Hmm (scratches head). Didn't think that would come as a result. Well at least positive came out of it. Like I said earlier, when using the Kila detents you have to make sure the detents/eye covers/eye wires are properly aligned and tucked in correctly.

Ya.. getting everything aligned is easier said then done though... lol. constant checking the eyes being not blocked and dry firing to check return on the detents is a must to make sure nothing sticks lol

I did a little trick at home to combat the effects of the eye slipping around. Take a 1"X1" square of electrical tape, put the eye wire in the center of the square and tape it in half around the eye wire. Then tuck the eye wire carefully back into place and screw the eye cover back on. Keeps it from slipping during heavy fire and use, stopping the dreaded 10bps eye malfunction.

I hope other people read this thread and use it to help them if they have similar problems. I'm guessing it will work for Egos and Geos too.

I just jazzed it up. It is actually a fail safe when the eyes aren't reading properly/misaligned. The gun goes into a kind of "safe mode", keeps the gun from blending paint because it can't sense whether a ball is properly in the firing chamber.

huh, that's interesting...and good to know it can happen. I've shot higher than 10bps I'm pretty sure (on ramp, at least...)

Those grips are very pretty, and nice color match. How do they look inside the marker?

btw, is that the APE board?

Ya, i think i got them aligned correctly. i had previously emailed kila products about the situation because nothing i did seemed to work. They responded very fast and offered to replace the pistons and if that didn't work replacing the eye covers and pistons entirely in case of a milling or magnet weakness issue. So kudos to them for great customer service hopefully i don't have to take them up on getting any of that done.

Just thought I'd give this a quick bump. Put a DART kit in my Ego a couple weeks ago and put the Cure3 from it into my Etek this weekend for a Scenario day.

WOW.

Was using a Freak barrel kit, .684 with a 16" tip and side by side with another Etek the difference in sound signature was amazing. I've never really thought the Etek was as loud as some people carry on about anyway but it went from the sharp clangy sound to more of a puff you'd expect from a spoolie. Best upgrade to both guns, so stoked.

The .684 bore of the freak along with the 16" tip porting will do more sound reduction than the bolt. Changing from a Cure 1 to a Cure 3 shouldn't make much of any sound changes since the only differences are the curved bolt face and ramp to avoid breaking paint.

Summary: Cure bolts changed to help reduce paint breakage, nothing sound related.

Well it also didn't break a ball in 3000 rds, so still good upgrades all round.
