barrel stuck

Got a used Etek 3 and idiot who had it before tightened barrel to the point where it will not come apart. Whats the best way to get the barrel apart, I already got some nice scratchs in it would like to avoid anymore if possible.

Thanks

You can use strap wrenches, or put one end in a vice with some leather or rubber around it and try that way

OR hit it wit a hair dryer at the joint and see if that loosens it a bit

Are you tring to unscrew the barrel tip? If so, it's reverse thread.

I knew it was reverse threaded but the guy who owned it before didn't obviously. Got it apart but scratched really bad.

I was thinking about getting another back thats smaller anyway so the scratches one the front part are all that matter. I may get a barrel sleeve or something to cover those or see if somebody has one for sale cheap.

hair dry the outer side then shock the inner side with ice. The theory is the outside part will expand and the inner will shrink.

Never tried this, only heard it.
