I'm confused too. The large shim goes face down. Then the top of the piston, then on the piston shaft you have )()()(.
If your reg seat is damaged then you may need a new one or you may be able to flip the ones you have over. You should have a full circle impression on the reg seat....if you have half a circle then there will be leakage.
