Tank reccomendations

Planning on playing lots of woodsball this summer
Picked me up a BT combat
I was wondering which tank
Ninja 50ci 4500
Or a grey ghost thing 68 4500
There both about the same price

when re-filling is not a quick option, alway go with the biggest tank you feel physically comfortable with. If you are playing at a field with free fills, then any will do.

You know that once you start using your scuba for filling paintball tanks, its not eligible to use as a certified scuba for diving anymore.

Never heard of that. Do you have some kind of documentation that states it as a safety/regulatory guideline?

Every scuba shop near me requires that if you are using the tank for fills, it be marked as that use.
It has to do with many compressors not having a filter to remove 100% of the condensation out of the line, so there could end up with water in your scuba.
That would mess with you respirator or something. That was how it was told to me.

Ummmm ive never heard of that. Because there is no air going into the tank so it should be fine. When i got certified we used them for filling car tires and stuff

And this isnt a line. Its a simple thing that fits right on the top like a regulator

any 68/4500 will do, it also depends on how much you'll be shooting. If your a mad man running through the forest on the trigger non-stop than consider maybe a 90ci. Using one of my friends BT's and a 48/4500 id have to fill up after about 4-5 pods + hopper. I dont know how efficient yours is though.

I was speaking of the compressor that fills the scuba, not how you fill your paintball tank from the scuba. I've been using scubas to fill longer than you've been playing.

Bologna. You can use a scuba tank to dive with after using it to fill paintball tanks. My dive shop rents out scuba tanks regularly for paintball use, the only time you risk water in the tank is when you fill it.

You bring up a very valid point but it needs expanding on slightly. Yes, dive shops will require you to put a label on a scuba tank stating youre only using it for filling paintball tanks (if thats what you're doing). If a dive shop only fills your scuba tank with breathable diving air, then you wont have to worry about the sticker. If its just compressed air (not dive/breathable quality air), the moisture and dirt inside the compressed air can cause damage to a respirator, causing it to fail. The sticker or label on the scuba bottle wold help absolve the dive shop for any liability that occurs because someone is diving with a scuba tank that has been filled with compressed air and not filtered properly, after they have filled it.

Hope this helps.

Filed into the old brain box. So it's really just a liability issue/standard then from the sound of it.

Good question. I have a feeling this might be a regulation set by the dive industry, not necessarily the paintball industry.

I may have to take a drive by the dive shop next town over next time I go by and inquire. I am curious on this myself as I've never heard anybody mention it over the years until now.
