Magfed section
This part of the game seems to be growing enough that it's worth having its own section. It's definitely separate to scenario ball even if it didn't used to be and magfed only games are popping up all over the place.
So, yeah

Coolies.
Put it under the scenario section or should it be an entirely new one from scratch?

We almost always start with a thread. See if there's a popular one going. If not, make one.
Link other Magfed players to it, add it to your signature, promote it off the site even. Once it becomes popular then we'll make a subforum. If it becomes big enough we'll make it its own top level forum.
If there are already dozens of solid threads then link them here so we can see if we should jump ahead to making the forum.

I'm not inclined to do your marketing for you. If you don't think the growth of magfed is obvious enough to make a section immediately then that's fine by me. It's a suggestion is all.

Well yeah - promotion = marketing, in this case site content.

I think you have some terms confused. But no worries. If it is popular enough to warrant a forum, someone will do it for you.

I have a degree in marketing, I'm using the word correctly. Customers would be actual and potential asm members and advertisers, and by communicating the value of site content I'd be marketing the site to them. Among other things. That's the definition of marketing.
Anyways I'll take that as a "no, it's not clear to us that it's a good idea yet".
Good to know the criteria anyway.

It's not a "no" at all. It's a "that's a good idea" still. How do we know there's interest? The easy way to check would be to see if there's any Magfed discussion already taking place. That's why the first step is to see if there's already a popular Magfed thread.
I think where your logic breaks down is that we wouldn't be marketing anything since we'd still be within PbN. If anything, we'd be marketing Magfed to our users since a forum would make it more visible.

Internal marketing is still marketing, especially if it potentially increases the value of the site via increased user engagement. Marketing is a very broad term and covers everything from promotion and sales (both internal and external) through to things like market research, branding, and so on. It's a broad enough term that definitions tend to vary One principle of marketing is to predict consumer behaviour, not just react to it. That said I fully understand not wanting to create forums that may just become tumbleweed zones.
The DAM generated a whole lot of interest and some very long threads, while the Spyder Hammer7 was similar.
I would suggest that the interest for magfed *play* is definitely there (and growing), so it follows that a forum would work. Part of the issue however is that pbn is often seen as a speedball centric forum so the bulk of relevant users may not be here yet. Once word gets out things could pick up but it might be more through new users than existing members.

That's why the suggestion is being made that an official thread be started. Chances are if you don't, someone else will.
I'll point out that limited-paint discussion is more than welcome in the Pump Forums, as pistols and stock class have always been.
