Ok...I'm not gonna take the point that most of these guys would and just tell you to man up and take it. A lot of it depends on what style you're playing. But no matter if it's tourneyball or woodsball, the biggest thing is to lose yourself in the game. Let the adrenaline help you with this. If tourney ball is your bag, think ahead of the present. Concern yourself with your lane, or the next move you're going to make. Woodsball, my preferred game, lets me lose myself in the hunt. If you spend all your time worrying about how much it's going to hurt....it will. Don't think about it...just play and have a good time.

eventually getting shot gets more of an annoyance rather than pain...you think **** i'm out, rather than wow that hurts...pain desensitization drills help too...jousting drills where you just run straight at another baller shooting ropes, helps with run and gun and pain...or the terminator woodsball game. pick a small spot on your jersey, typically the logo, and you're only out if you get shot there, teams are typically 20 to 1 or 2 "terminators"...idk kinda fun but it hurts like hell the first few times...

Yeah tylenol is good stay away from asprin-it will make the bruises bigger because it thins the blood.
On a side note asprin is good at preventing altitude sickness when you are hiking. Back in the day when I lived in the high desert I used to take two asprin and go on hiked up into the mountains (+10000ft) and not have a problem--except when i would fall--the bruise was always larger than I thought it would be.

Drayven has it. Lose yourself in the game. On a note of the Tylenol, I do not feel that it will help that much and you may rely on it too much. My suggestion to do along with Dryven's suggestion is to pad up. Get a chest protector, shin guards, arm padding like slidders, two or three layer of clothes. As you forget about the pain (you will eventually) you will care more about movement and not the pain. My 2 cents

Seriously, if you cant take the pain then dont play. Play tennis or golf if you can't take the pain.

So awesome to feel the pain, and just saying I just got ****ing shot by a paintball just play it off if you think it hurts haha..
Just get really into the game and you won't feel a thing it's pretty much a car hitting you at 200 miles per hour but in ball form.

Generally speaking, most of the time they don't hurt bad. Even while getting bonus balled the pain just kinda dulls away until it just doesn't really bug you anymore. Of course there will be certain spots that hurt more than others, ie: neck, ears, nuts, etc. If you can't take it I would give up on paintball, because it's part of the game.

When I first started playing, I was afraid. You just have to build a tolerance for it, don't be a baby about it. Worst shot I got was from about 5-8 ft away and two shots in the thigh. It just stings a little, just put on two t-shirts or one sweat shirt and get shot twice in the back. And if you play speedball, you will hardly feel the hit when you are playing. Since woodsball is not as fast paced you won't have your adrenaline pumping so you'll notice it more. But in conclusion just take the hit, it stings for seconds and once you get used to it your good.

buy gear I have arm protectors, chest protector, slider pants, boots
I dont mind diving in woodsball thats the main reason I wear all that crap.
I think getting skinned up from sliding hurts worse
