Kind of a stupid question, everyone's going to say light, efficient, smooth.

Other than light efficient and smooth.
Buy an autococker if you want all three all seriousness I've shoot the mechanical side of the gun since the board isn't ready and it's actually nice smooth feel and I can't wait to see some of the changes from the production mule till now

I want this to not be vapor-ware that never sees the light of day. Its easy to talk about releasing a gun, but said gun almost never hits the market unless its backed by a large company.
Take Thin Air Sportz for example, and then don't ever expect them to release anything.

The ball needs to go where I point it, not too heavy, and simple. I don't like complicated stuff.

Well the one I shot I was able to take entire bodys internals out and apart in about 35 sec so pretty simple. And the mechanical mule shot dead on where I wanted it to shoot. Just had a horrible old old impulse reg so you could only one ball. But the mechanics are awesome

It shoots and doesnt chop.
In all seriousness, buying all these fancy guns is because im addicted and like having cool things.... if it was all about functionality, i dont care what it looks like, how much it weighs (obviously i dont want it weighing 10lbs), what features it has. Just as long as it shoots as it should, and doesnt chop paint, i'd be happy.

Must be able to shoots 50bps, weigh less than a pound, and be like an aimbot in halo but in real life.
In all seriousness though, a gun that I could switch firing systems (mech, ramping, full auto) on the fly (1-2 secs). I'd really like a gun that could be as heavy duty as a Tippmann (beat it to death, run it over with a tank, still works) but without the clunkiness of a Tippmann. Don't know if that's possible without making it ten pounds, but I think that would be nice.

I used to be into the speedball set ups, but I got burnt out on that kind of play so I switched over to "fun" guns.
TPX's
Airrowgun
A5's with the 50. BMG kit
98 Customs with pvc rocket launcher shrouds (which I actually use in scenarios)
SL-68 II with a shotgun body (700 for the dsg is outrageous)
I'm pretty big on just having fun regardless of if I win or not. Best way for me to have fun is use really impractical guns in whatever settings. Airrowgun on airball? Running to snake with that rpg? Waltzing about trying to reload that shotty with one hand with a the nerf battle axe in the other? These things are what drive me to play, and in a way, it helps moral of those around me. When they see someone crazy enough to do all that stuff, and still occasionally get people out, the fear of getting shot up just sorta vanishes and they jump to, and good times are had.
So yeah.

I dont like my markers to be all that smooth honestly. I want them to feel "alive". And I really dont care how loud they are, I am much more particular about the actual sound signature than the db level.
First and foremost, the marker must have good ergonomics. And the interaction with the trigger is paramount. This is the point of the marker that I interact with most frequently and most directly, I want it to be good.
Mediocre efficiency is fine. You are not going to make or break customers as long as you can manage 1500 shots off a 69/45.
Light is good.
I do find "PumpScout"'s comment interesting. I haven't really considered having an "all in one" marker. Currently, I use my orracle for my pump and mechanical play. Then fool around with my shocker, ripper 1 and sl94 for my electronic semi and tournament play.
Having a marker that could be a reasonably well performing tournament marker, while having the ability to swap to mechanical and pump play would make for a very interesting marker, if maybe not the best purpose built machine...
