Hey guys sorry there haven't been many updates. Well there are not many updates to post.
I know everyone is anxious for this to happen and play. We are anxious as well. If you guys didnt know. Punishers Paintball is moving on site of the field. This has devoured much of our time. The retail store site has been renovated and we are in the process of moving inventory. This task is not an easy one. There are thousands of items that need moved and in the mean time trying to fulfill orders promptly.
Here is a picture of one of the walls which are ready for Dye goods.
As for the field, yes we are laying turf. It has taken us many weeks of excavating and 25 tri-axles of stone laid for the base. The week before the snow came, the turf company started to move the turf and well the snow came, since we have been on hold. There is still a ton to do. The woods field has had paths cut with a machine and the next step is to build obstacles. We have been running private parties but we are not yet ready for open play. We could probably run open play in the woods but the appearance of the surroundings is an ugly sight. We still need the field below the PSP field excavated so we can build a town. The other concept field which we planed on building an air field is still up in the air as what theme to go with.
As you can imagine there is a lot still on our plate. We want this establishment to give our players the entire paintball experience of all aspects of the game. We don't want to give you guys a bad impression by opening the field giving a first by not having things completed to our standards.
If we do open, we may open the woods in a week for open play for a day, so you guys can see whats going on. However, again the woods field will not be near what we actually plan for the future but a playable field to scratch that trigger happy itch during these winter months.
When we do open in the spring, we expect the PSP field and woods field to be completed. There are many other aspects such as parking, roads, signs, staging, etc that needs factored in. Then through the spring months begin building the Town and other fields. SteelTown Paintball will be different than other fields because we dont accept "build it and they will come." Build it and continue to build it as the game progresses is something we stand by. We want to see this area develop and bring the paintball community back to where it was, both scenario and players at the pro level.
Feel free to chime in with any questions, suggestions, etc.
