SEPS 2013 series suggestions, input wanted from players
Hello all, just wanted to start a thread and solicit suggestions for the 2013 year. While we do our best to provide a great series and events, we always welcome and encourage input from the players and teams. Feel free to ask questions in private if you wish. Thanks again for a great year.

Ntense needs a better field.
Npi needs to fix net issues.

i say if we keep it at 6 events not drop a score for the series or go back to 8 dropping one.

Like both of the above suggestions. NPI really does need to work on the nets. Also maybe a training day for refs, explaining the difference between rub and a hit, penalties, etc would help a lot. Ntense's field, to me gives it a sense of what I imagine paintball used to be like with older bunkers which is kind of cool however, it would be nice to so a little field work. I'm not asking for a turf field, or for it to be perfectly level but mirrored fields would be nice. However, our whole team enjoyed the series as is and it is a great series and improvements can only make it nicer.

I think everyone has touched on everything I can think of but I will still put in my two cents. With netting I noticed people getting hit at NPI and also at Louisville but mainly at Louisville it was people getting hit watching from the sidelines get hit from the field they weren't watching. With the reffing I would love for someone to teach refs about what is bunker rub and not. Saw plenty of people get called out for bunker rub. Also don't use refs who obviously know very little about the rules. That was mainly at the last Louisville event on field 2. Had a ref tell one of our players that he was going to call a penalty on him if he keeps moving a bunker when he dives in. I'm sorry but Louisville's bunkers are secured to the ground and if you dive in hard and slide further then you expected and you hit the bunker it will move. I love the old style paintball feel to Ntense but they do need a lot of field work. Field 2, if i remember correctly is the smaller field, doesn't need to be 100% level but one side is way higher then the other. Field 1 needs the huge stones removed from the field. There were literally a few bunkers that you could not dive or slide into without a huge risk of busting yourself up.

My only suggestion is for the players involved. We need to get more people out to events. Get the guys from your local field into the d5/4 divisions.
And these refs are volunteers usually from these fields, so it's these players jobs to learn how to ref. wether that be for a 1 day clinic or just doing between games at a field. Besides these undertrained refs are usually there only because the ones that should've came forward didn't. It used to be that every team reffed one event every year, but of course that doesn't always happen.
Anyways thanks to Brent and mark and the field owners who put this on. THe sport loses a lot of tournament players due to not being able to find affordable events. We are lucky to have seps as an option.
I hope to see all the regulars again next year, some new faces, and maybe a new field or two!

I've never had refs I was completely satisfied with and I doubt seriously anyone has ever been completely satisfied with my reffing. Its a blessing that the fields even have enough for these events. And just remember that super cool hard @SS team from the great field down the the road yada yada yada make stinky refs just like the rest of us....

I've said it multiple times, I love this series. I agree with everything Jeremy posted as well as the statements regarding field conditions at certain fields. Moon Men will be playing again next year, and we look forward to seeing new faces as well as the ones we've seen year-in and year-out.
I look forward to 2013, if we make it out of 2012 alive.
I also agree with Woody. More topless counter girls would be quite nice.

i just played the last one at npi, but i know for us, the small field is what killed us..maybe keep it to one field only (maybe something kinda close to the psp layouts, for the people who play affiliate leagues..), but definiatly not the really small and compact field...
and i cant remember, but i believe their was a BIG rock in the ground on field 1 (npi), that was right before the dorito...our player had a few choice words about that rock

It's not a rock I don't believe, I;m pretty sure it's a cut down to the ground tree stump not positive but we noticed it way back in may and a couple of us felt it's wrath. REally it wasn't that small of a field, it was skinnier than a regular field more than anything, it was damn near the same length. One thing I would like is non staining paint, I didn't get shot too much by the stuff cause well... I didn't get shot much at the NPI event but I still have the blue stains in my gear... even the evil has eventually washed out just this blue stuff...

Possibly, I do believe it was the custom blend NPI was selling when they ran out of Ultra Evil...

SEPS is created around affordable old school style of ball. For them to cater it more towards affiliate leagues would only create one more series of the same thing. One of the main things that makes SEPS what it is, is how different things are. EVERYONE had to play on the "smaller" field at NPI. Everyone had to adapt to it. Being able to practice layouts before events is great but not being able to play a field before tests each teams fundamentals and team skills.. Not who has the most money to practice more often. Our snake player and myself played pump the last event at NPI.. The small field made staying alive off break a test.. but you have to adapt to the field you are given... No one gets to walk the field and choose their bunker and battlefield preferences in a real battle do they?

Dan... I don't think it matters how many time people post it... People will always want layouts and a more modern style paintball experience. I don't know why, SEPS just feels like its made to be played the way paintball was supposed to be played.
