well delrin would snap even at 1/4". even if it didn't snap, you get a bolt cap that is a little more snug, you'd never move it and you will snap it.

it wouldn't snap, it would probably strip before that happens. The back cap on a spool is usually hand tight anyway the only reason it doesnt come off is because there's no way to grip it.
There are valve removal tools for autocockers made of delrin, and those work on the same idea. Keep in mind how tightly an autococker valve nut is put in, some have red locktite on them too.
I don't really feel like doing it all out, but you could use the yield strength of delrin under torsion and figure out when it would break
