I used my spire for the first time today....love the way it worked...i shot some pretty beat up paint through it and it actually fed it.

I noticed that it popcorns the paint pretty bad, not that if effected the way it worked...also once you rip on your gun for a second, does your spire keep spinning pretty fast for a while? Is that normal..

I used a spire last week and had the Same issue , if you put the stack tension and sensitivity settings to 1 it fixes this

That's it's anti-jam in effect. Basically, the Spire's anti-jam is to just push balls up, but if they're not fully seated it will push them up or "popcorn".

I wouldn't call this popcorning because they're not flying everywhere, but I would call it a quirk that the ball needs to be ALL the way down otherwise it will pulse and shove it up.

As stated, change your settings to fix it.
