Ego 11 venting from HPR
Greetings.
I went outside today to play with my LPR HPR solenoid and dwel settings because that's just how i am.
Everything acted as expected. i'm a little unfamiliar with the LPR in these guns and it seemed to be very non-touchy. I lowered my dwell until i saw a drop in FPS and then raised it .5ms and left it there.
My solenoid is at 2-7
I was pretty consistent for using crap paint. But i couldn't get my gun to chrono over 260-270 becuase even a 1/4th turn of my HPR in the + direction caused it to vent out the side. when i returned it back down the 1/4th turn it would stop venting.
I should note that i'm using a 450psi output crossfire tank and it was around 45 degrees F out.
Any ideas? gun shot nice just couldn't get it up to 300 without the HPR venting.
thanks,
Scott

Hi,
Does the velocity range vary if you set the SFRs at 5 and 7 (as per factory settings)?
Also, having ensured that you have registered your Ego11 for warranty via: https://warranty.planeteclipse.com/site/signin can you tell me if your Inline Adjuster Top section is made from brass or not?

None of the parts in my inline regulator are brass. Solenoid settings were not helping either.

Maybe service and zero the regs...factory reset the board? Wouldn't hurt to check out the poppet, ram, and bolt while you're at it buddy. Just thoughts...Im no ego owner, but thought I'd toss out some ideas.

Strange. It seems to happen in certain pressure ranges. If i lower or raise my HPR it will vent from the side but then if i continue going it will stop. Then start again at another point.
Any ideas? bad seal?

Interesting. I lubed the small oring that the reg piston rests in down inside the adjuster area in the bottom portion of the reg. (sorry i dont know the actual names for these parts so just describing to best of my ability). The problem now seems to be gone. I can't make it vent from the side.

This, and replacing those orings on the velocity adjuster screw, are the first things to do. If the problem returns, you may need to have the part replaced. Many people with older Ego11 (my CSL included) needed an updated part eventually.

Cool thanks, I'll update this thread if this occurs and yours or another solution works to keep others informed.

My brand new 11 I had would vent the same way if I ran a tank with an ouput below 500 psi. I just stopped using an LP tank on my Ego 11, not a big deal really but it did frustrate me as it states the 11 should handle LP just fine.

Interesting. i'm now using a Ninja pro outputting 800psi so i should be set. Gun worked great every since i lubed that seal though. Great input though.

It's venting from the pin hole in the body of the hpr? Like the part above the swivel right?

Inside the volocity adjuster segment of a regulator (part you screw in). There is an oring on the inside of that, repace is and report back.

I had the same problem on my Geo 2.1 last week.
Adjusting the pressure/velocity past a certain point to gain the correct FPS, i get a leak through the hole on the HPR. Turned velocity back down approx 220 FPS, leak was gone.
Stripped down HPR, everything, including the velocity adjuster, cleaned and greased.
Problem solved.

I use dow55 on the reg piston O-ring only solved my issue. Swells the o-ring a lil more then the 33. Im getting great consistency this way.
