I'm planning on playing at Tech if I go (early action decisions come out soon!) and I'm wondering about how much funding the team gets, from the school and sponsors. My cousin played on Tech's team several years ago and said you guys had sponsors for EVERYTHING besides guns. Is that still true? (This may affect my decision lol)

You shouldn't be using the sponsorship or even the existence of a paintball team affect you decision on a college. We had to build the team from the ground up and you could do the same at another school if you wanted to. That said, almost every college paintball team expects you to provide the gear and some dues while the school can be persuaded to pay for consumable costs such as tournament entry fees or paint. Just because it's a college team, doesn't mean it's a free ride.

I have just received my acceptance letter into Georgia Tech and have always been interested in joining GT's NCPA team. Although I won't be enrolling until the Summer of 2013, how do I go about joining the team and am I able to practice with the team before I actually start at GT?

Hey man,

Congrats on the acceptance! We are looking forward to you playing with us but unfortunately we cannot have people on the team who are not an active student. We do not practice in the Summer so the earliest you could officially start playing with us is in Fall 2013. Though... you are welcome to come out and play with us sometime at Nitro on your own money. We will be starting up again about 2 weeks into the Spring semester. Lemme know if you are interested in that and if so we can exchange contact info.

I'll be transferring there after next fall to finish out my nuclear engineering degree. So I might play a little. also, any of yall know if Pi Kappa Phi is any good there? its the big white 14k sq ft frat house. I might stay active when i transfer,dunno yet.
