So I sat down and came up with this for about .50 cents a piece. Maybe a few few cents more for someone else but I buy stuff in bulk so I get it cheaper. Anyway I made one for each insert. Takes up way less space in my bag and will protect them far better than the big box ever thought about. Hope this helps a few save room in your gearbag. 3/4 schedule 40 PVC, coupler, flat cap and a threaded coupler with threaded cap.

The shipping would be the ****ty part cause it would prob cost more than the parts. But I'd be happy to make you a set.

Yet another great insert kit storage idea Like the guy who put hard foam in the upper half of his luxe case and carved a location out for each insert so there would sit snuggly in the case with the luxe. great ideas all around guys.

Yeah his idea was great. I just don't have the patience for that. Lol this took just a few mins and can just be thrown in the gearbag or book bag without damage to the inserts.

I'm always glad to see another DIYer. I made some pvc "cases" for my standard barrels and they've been working great for over a year and cost less than a dollar. Nice work.

Thats a great idea OP. I just keep my inserts in the original packaging they came in. Probably not the best idea, but its better then having them floating around in my bag. Those things are actually pretty fragile!

I like this idea! Right now I have 2-2piece barrels that I have put together and stuck in the middle of my paper towel roll as to not move around, but I just might do this

You can build them cheaper than what I did and still get the same results. 3/4 PVC with 2 caps is really all you need. I used the coupler and cap on the bottom then the female adapter and screw in cap on top. If I did more I would probably just use a regular cap on the bottom and top.

This is a great idea, would be pretty cool to see like designs somehow done on the pvc give them that personal touch :-p
