just curious why people spend 1500+ on a gun or 3 or 4 and sell them all

seems weird to buy something for 1500 and a year later get 800

why sell them?

Nope many people want to shoot the most up to date guns or have sponsorships that they have to fulfill

true but since I am getting back into paintball I figured play with what I got and then upgrade to a real marker.

I bought all my stuff for dirt cheap so I wont lose much if I do sell but its easier to keep it.

I guess I have never been a guy to sell to upgrade (or downgrade which i see alot)

There are several reasons for selling a high-end marker.

1. You're required to buy a new gun for sponsorship reasons.
2. You prefer a different design.
3. You want the latest and greatest.
4. You want to downgrade.
5. You need money.

It's no different than cars, video games, or dirt bikes.

Lots of reasons to why people sell guns. The list is endless. In the paintball world it's rather easy to sell / trade your gun and get something new and this is always a benifit. Lots of people including myself like shooting all types of markers so we are frequently buying / selling or trading.

Why do people sell anything that still works for less than they paid for it. Like others said, lots of reasons. None of which I understand unless there is a noticeable improvement in performance.

paintball markers are in the same class as cars. They drop in value as soon as you buy them. Don't believe the hype, it's better to buy used.

I'll tell you my reasons.


Empire Axe (didn't care for the feel in hands)
Etek 4 (Loud and Kicky)
Geo 2.0 (Low air efficiency and my primary field is 3000 # air only)
2006 Ego (Too many markers)

Mostly I buy used, try them for a while. If I like the gun, it stays. If no, t it's gone and because it was used I don't lose much money. Plus I get a much better feel for the marker if I owe it.

Any hobby is like this, really. The one's that last are the one's that buy gear within their budget and focus on their own technique.
