I would suggest you call mom and dad @ ATMF. They'd be able to tell you how many other brothers and sisters they made.

Iirc, the guy you sold it to found an UL that was ano'd by CCI's anodizer and the color was really close. It wasn't matched ano'd but a good find.

That is very interesting. I assumed the barrel was ano'd with the gun because it matches so perfectly.

When I built it, I was a pretty big fan of CP one piece 685 barrels. I had a few gloss black ones and used them on everything. I never bothered to match a barrel to the gun, I guess I didn't really care enough to bother.

my local stores does a ton of business with cci, and often they anno swirl pattern barrels for them.
after i got the purple highlander in a trade, i was in the store and found that ultralite sitting there. they wouldnt sell me just the tip, but when i used my ti back and the tip, you couldnt see the difference at all in the colors.
edit: i pm'd you gunhero to ask you about the highlander, but you never responded. i sold it locally, and that guy sold it on ebay. i had asked if you picked it up there.

What a stroke of luck at finding it. I'm glad they made you buy the entire barrel.
Sorry about the PM. I don't recall getting one from you, I must've accidentally overlooked it.

Its only worth what someone would pay for it. Prices are very depressed now, but once in a while there is someone who would pay an insane amount for something even when it is not worth it. Just not my insanity.

In retrospect, I wish no one had ponied up the cash for it so I had an excuse to just sit on it.

There are a growing number of people that will pay nicely for a nice style AKA marker again, which is clearly evident of the last few truly rare AKA pieces that have sold. I agree with you, something's only worth what someone's willing to pay for it. But If we all know there are other collectors out there that would, in fact, pay a very respectable amount of money for a gun because they know that's what it takes to own a truly rare marker, then why would anyone settle for less? (if they're educated about the current market)
Also, don't get too scrunched over my remark about your insanity. It was a joke as expressed with a
