Is the battery on unibody MBP's really not user replaceable? Cause it looks like I could damn sure replace it on my own, considering there are batteries on ebay..?

So I think I may buy a used MacBook Air on Craigslist or a some secondhand computer shop. Then with the money I save I'm going to upgrade the ssd.

Not possible on the airs. Everything is soldered directly to the motherboard.

I heard the preorders for the iPad Mini will start on Friday October 26th at apple.com. Does anybody know what time the preorders go live?
Thanks

After I land this new job and make some money I'm going to look at how I could really use the iPad mini and probably get one. Just the 16 GB model as I have an iPhone and MBA already so I wouldn't need anything bigger and at $329 I think that's a pretty fair price.

Pretty decent specs for such a small computer.
http://www.apple.com/mac-mini/specs.html
I loved my 2011 that I had. Sold it because it didn't see much use after I built my desktop.
It was mainly used as a media server connected to my TV, but I just connect my Macbook Pro to the TV to play movie and stuff off of an external hard drive.

Meh. Rather have it and not use it that not have it and need it. It has 4 different I/O (USB3, Thunderbolt, HDMI and Firewire) so it isn't like it is lacking which is a good thing IMO.

So I just got an older macbook air that I plan on selling its an 08 or 09. It came to me with osx 10.5.8 and I was wondering if it were possible to take it to apple and if they would install 10.6 for me, I'd pay for the software obviously but I don't really want to buy a super drive or an external disk drive because I plan on selling it, any chance they would do that?
Also it has a broken hinge its not unusable but it is an annoyance its rather fragile while opening and closing, I know they were repairing them awhile back, I'm assuming it is out of warranty now and they're no longer repairing them and it is fairly dented so it would look like an accidental damage opposed to a manufacturing issue. Couldn't hurt to ask though I suppose, right?

you would need to call applecare to purchase 10.6. it's 19.99. The store does not carry it. you may be able to borrow an external drive from the genius bar for the install, but dont hold your breath.

There was a replacement program for the mb air hinges, not sure if yours qualifies or if it's even still an active replacement...
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2948
Your best bet would be to take the computer to an AASP to see if it qualifies. Why? they want it to be bad and qualify so they can be paid by apple to fix it.

Alright apple thread, I need help...
Hello all,
I figured I'd post this question here instead of making a completely new thread and end up getting flamed for it, because it seems like a really stupid problem. But anyways, here goes...
My hard drive crashed the other week down at school, and my Macbook Pro wouldn't boot up. I dealt with not having a computer until I came home over break, and took my computer to the local Apple store in the mall here. They told me my hard drive was ****ed, and that they'd have to replace it, but since I hadn't backed up my computer somewhere, now my computer is blank. This is where I find it gets more complicated....
I have the majority of my music from my iTunes library on my iPhone, but I'm afraid that since my iTunes library is now completely wiped out on my computer, that if I plug my phone into my computer, it will wipe all of my music off of my phone. Get what I'm saying? I'm trying to figure out a way to get my music from my phone back to my computer, but I'm not sure how without risking losing all of it.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
