Yeah, I'd say I could manage 70 million people worldwide to provide all the goods and services I would ever want.

This place has been so entertaining lately. Unfortunately, that entertainment is dying quickly. Why don't more people expand their ignore list so they/we can stop wasting time with idiotic drivel and talk with some form of intelligence?
Stop feeding the lowest common denominator.

As I said before, I doubt there is anyone on PBN, let alone in this thread, that has been up close and personal to a warhead, let alone comprehends the kind of forces we are talking about.
Keep in mind, if we use low yeild stuff, we are talking a liveable areas inside of 5-10 years, and plant regrowth in 2-3 years. Quit watching end of the world movies from the 80's, things just don't work that way. There won't be a "nuke winter" it won't contaminate the earth for thousands of years. The kind of background Rad's we are talking here inside the 3-5 year point, is under what the sun gives us every day.

So the perfect scenario of just enough nuclear material to render millions of square miles uninhabitable and a couple billion dead but not enough to harm the rest of the world. You're getting up there with yesme for the amount of unsubstantiated knowledge you claim to have. Oh and I love how proximity to a device implies any sort of understanding about it.

What does that have to do with the effects of nuclear attacks?
OB is a crazy nutter, but I don't see the relevance.

For Treghc I'll try to move things on track.
None of you will believe this, but I've (poorly) written a feasibility study for an international think-tank on the Israel/Palestine conflict...biggest, most complicated issue, cluster of an issue you'll ever try to wrap your head around.
Couple points on this latest conflict.
Palestinians in Gaza of many party affiliations, not just Hamas are firing rockets into Israel...NPR did a piece this morning with an analyst who says Hamas has actually been trying to crack down on rocket attacks...
Israel has a right to defend itself, no doubt. Could you imagine if Mexican cartels started shooting rockets into border cities in Texas or California? Talk about genocide...
I agree with the Times piece yesterday that had Hamas leaders saying Israeli invasion would be a hoax. At this point, whatever enemy that lurks inside of Gaza knows where Israel would enter Gaza from. They've had a long time to set traps, bombs...and all kinds of nastiness if you roll into town now.
In my opinion, this is more political... Both sides can capitalize on this conflict to strengthen the resolve of their base. I see a ceasefire by Friday... then more rocket attacks that go unnoticed by christmas.

He claims to know more about nuclear weapons than anyone here. It was my way of saying he doesn't even understand the fundamentals. Neutron capture has everything to do with the fallout from nuclear effects as it determines how much material is fission-ed.

Anyways, back on topic. Let's move past OB's craziness.
One of the things Israel's doing could be testing it's military in case it has to move against Iran soon. Its had a pretty good test of Iron Dome, it's missile defense system.

Any action against Iran will likely be completely from the air. Israel has a tremendous advantage in air to air combat, with completely superior aircraft, weapons, and fire control systems. Israel with have total air superiority in a matter of hours and bomb Iran into submission. Iran will have to cross through Iraq to get to Israel with ground forces, which is an area where they have an advantage, which isn't going to happen. Even if they somehow were allowed to pass through, they would have the everliving **** bomb out of them the whole way over.
