I would be happy for the sport if teams could afford to pay 6 figures

Yes everyone on damage has a $50k sallery, from dye im assuming. They make money selling the gear back to the public. Greenspan did say something on PBA about 80k for him to play cup, that sounds outrageous.

does a 50k "sallery" mean 50,000 pats on the back?

Lol. Nobody will ever get paid 7 figures to play pro paintball, like ever.
I'd happily play for any Pro team for $50,000
This kind of thing to this scale hasn't happened since Oliver left Dynasty for the Ironmen and 100k, pretty big news.
Congrats to Mouse

Not all at one time. In fact it isn't real pats on the back at all. More like coupons redeemable for pats on the back.
In the meantime keep on the lookout for news that Damage is selling some natural wetlands in South Florida and the Skyway Bridge in St. Pete to help fund the team.

That's what people said about NASCAR until Richard Petty came along and won everything
They should list on PBA Team Winnings, Team salaries with Player salaries, and then do a Cost vs Performance Score with their ranking system. It would be very interesting to see. Especially with them always commenting on the webcast and saying things like "That's why you pay Dave Bains."

Dunno if the money is justified or not, but your logic is off IMO. First of all they practice more than once a week lots of weeks. Second you aren't counting time in the gym, time away from home traveling or time doing promotional stuff like photos and interviews.

Just for reference, the article was first published on Social Paintball.
Regarding this: "Last edited by John : Today at 11:41 AM. Reason: Social asked us to take it down."
I asked for a "link back to our original article or remove the offending piece." Their reaction was to remove it.

If y'all are looking for actual facts in this article I can supply at least one: my dad helped build said sunshine skyway bridge as a tugboat captain.

Do you know what match that interview took place during, and about what time into the video?
