DO NOT LET HER JUMP UP ON HER HIND LEGS!!!!!!!!!!! At all. For any reason.
That is one thing that leads to arthritis and hip problems at a youngish age
When your transporting her to the field, if you bought birds to use, keep them in a seperate spot of the vehicle so it doesnt mess up her nose.
MAKE SURE SHE DOES NOT RUN MORE THAN 15 YARDS FROM YOU!!!!!! Keep control of her very well. I know GSP's like to run fields a lot

I do plan on starting slow with her. I plan on spending the first 2-3 weeks strictly on obedience training (learn her name, come, sit, stay/"woah"). I'm hoping to introduce her to birds in about a month, again taking it slow.
I'll definitely do what I can to keep her from jumping, that **** pisses me off and I've broken all other dogs I've had of that. When do you think I should introduce an e-collar to her? And I'm hoping with her mastering the woah command and the aid of an e-collar I'll keep her within 15-20yds. I'm open to any other pointers any of you might have.
I just picked her up yesterday and didn't get home with any daylight left so I played with her for about an hour in the yard til it got dark after work today. She already seems to be picking up on her name and the command "come". She found one of the other dogs Kong and brought it to me so we played fetch for a while. I was pretty impressed at how she was retrieving and coming right back to me. I like that she was holding the kong right by me letting me grab it right out of her mouth, just like I would want with a bird. I've been keeping her in the crate and going to be building a kennel for her in the garage but she hasn't pissed/**** in the house yet and hasn't be too whiney. Hope she continues to impress me.

Nothing like a morning woody! Did you decoy them or jump shoot them?

The only other thing id do is after you have down the whole "fetch" thing, get her to sit next to you while the kong is in the air and send her retrieve it after it hits the ground. Again, use a cap gun to simulate a shot while the kong is in the air so it seems natural while shooting a bird in the field

It does makes sense with the pure bred dogs that are more inclined to have hip problems. Other than that, I just hate it when dogs jump on me and you also gotta worry about them ****ing up a little kid if they're jumpers.

Sighted in my AR. Last time I was shooting I was just BSing and knew it was close so just had to make sure it was perfect. This was my last, 5 shot group of the day.

I prefer to work out alone. It enables me to concentrate on the lessons that the Iron has for me. Learning about what you're made of is always time well spent, and I have found no better teacher. The Iron had taught me how to live. Life is capable of driving you out of your mind. The way it all comes down these days, it's some kind of miracle if you're not insane. People have become separated from their bodies. They are no longer whole.
