Ok, I'm pretty sure my reg is busted. I know it's not the tank because another guy at the field had a mini yesterday and my tank worked fine on his gun.

I removed the reg from the gun and completely removed the front adjusting knob/screw. This way I know there is no spring pressure on the piston. I then screwed the reg onto the tank. I expected that with no spring to push the piston/valve open, there would be no air coming out at all. Instead, there is a steady leak. If I push the piston in with my hand then more air would come out, which seems correct.

I tried to open up the reg to see if there was a broken seal or o-ring, but apparently you need special tools to do this. I looked around, but I can't find a place that sells just the regulator/asa assembly for this gun.

on the mini should you put a drop of gun oil in the ASA once every 5 cases of paint to keep the internals of the reg/gun lubed or is that bad habit for the mini??

Do not put oil anywhere near the ASA. Oil can damage the internals and ruin the gun; Don't do it.

I watched a video on youtube from the peeps that make the boss bolt and they said to put a drop in the ASA every once in a while. I was having problems with my gun recharging so I had to take the ASA all apart and clean and put new oring in it. There is a little brass thing in there that has at least one oring and it has to slide. I would say, since you cant take it apart without a specialty tool or little luck, the only way to lube is a very small drop of oil every once in a while.

The ASA is a reg, the reg has o-rings/seals, how do you properly lube the o-rings/seals inside the reg ? You put 2 drops of PAINTBALL ONLY OIL in the asa and cycle it thru. I prefer Gold Cup, but there are others out there. This should be done between every 3-4 cases to keep your reg running smooth.
