Waaaaayyyyyy late on the response, but thanks again for the comments everyone This thread has given me a lot more input than I'm used to, so I'm very grateful for that. I've been slacking lately, but as I mentioned a couple months ago, the process of working on a name piece for my mother has begun Hopefully I'll have pics to post up within the week...
Late to the party, once again, haha. You're all too kind. Thanks for all of the input again. I've been busy as hell with school and work combined, but here are a couple of ideas I threw together tonight for a cubism oil painting I'll be working on in the following 3 weeks. Should be an interesting project...
Finished or not, this painting is due tomorrow... I never know when to call oil paintings done lol. Anyhow, this is my first time oil painting on canvas. Comments and criticism are appreciated as always
Not a whole heck of a lot different from the previous pic, but here's the (I think..) finalized oil painting of The Hermit. The assignment was to make a painting that simulates motion and emphasizes texture... I was directly influenced by the first ~3 minutes of this video:
Dead thread is dead, but I'm here with a work in progress of my first oil painting master study of Odilon Redon's "Red Boat With Blue Sails"... I'd like to think I'm somewhat close to being finished, but I know there's a lot of work left to do. Comments and criticism are appreciated
Here's the original:
Edit: I also touched up my painting of the Hermit... Still not sure if it's completely finished or not, but I'm done with it for now.
Also, here's the first print that I've been somewhat happy with... Printmaking hasn't been my favorite course mainly because the process is grueling and the results vary widely (too many factors; I'm a control freak ) Anyhow, feedback is greatly appreciated
I'll straight up buy that cubism painting from you. That's dope as ****.
Also, printmaking sucks ***. I hated how long that **** took when I took it.
Here are a few prints I did.
Andy Warhol style self portrait series:
Collaborative print (two of us both had a plate and we combined the images onto the same print. Turned out sick as ****. My plate was the shapes and lines.

Awwhh man, I'm flattered... I've actually had a surprising amount of people want to buy that painting from me. I'm not ready to let go of it just yet, but I'll pm you my FB page if you think you might be legitimately interested in the future (assuming I'll ever be ready to let go of it, hahaha). Nice prints though, man. I'd hope that printmaking gets to be a little more fun when there is color involved. I like your color/ style combos on those last ones- pretty interesting.
I'm doing my first woodcut print now... I'll come back later and post up a progress pic. Finals week is approaching and I work every night, so I'm pulling benders this weekend lol.
If you were to let it go. How much have people offered you for it?
I know paintings get expensive and they can be pretty sentimental as well.
It would all depend how much you'd end up wanting for it I suppose.

I haven't given anyone enough room to even offer numbers yet... I've just told everyone who said they want to buy it that I'm not interested in selling it as of now. Like I said though, I'll pm you if you may be interested in the future...
Here's my first woodcut in-progress... Hoping it turns out, but I can't be confident having never made one of these.

Yeah, the hand is a bit small and the outside forearm is a bit too thick. I already started cutting there, so it's in place already =/ My anatomy is definitely a weakness (although I'm a ton better than I used to be).
I think I'm finished with my master study, although I'd bet my prof tells me I'm not done today.
Finished my woodcut today... Not entirely pleased with how it turned out, but it's my first time, so I couldn't expect much.
Also, another painting is in progress...
The result of a late night in the painting studio... My final painting: the assignment parameters were pretty wide open, being that we would choose between the most desired painting (a beautiful landscape- something your grandmother would love) or the least desired painting (abstracted- something that those who know little about painting would have difficulty appreciating)...
Feedback is greatly welcomed... I may not be finished, but it's extremely close if it isn't.
