Something feels off
Hi all,
I just bought my new GoG Extcy(has stock parts only) marker but something about it feels off. It seems very inconsistent. The first shot would be true but the follow up shots either chops or flutters(doesn't follow the first shot). I try to chrno it and i was getting inconsistent numbers there as well. I am not too sure why this is happening. So i field stripped it and cleaned out the bolt and put some new grease on it and it still seems inconsistent. Anyone else have this problem. If so how did you fix the inconsistencies. Any info would be awesome.
Thanks

well first off, you should check the manual to see if it can help you diagnose the problem. Its been pretty useful for me so far. Secondly, since you are having trouble with inconsistent shots, you should take apart the reg and check all of the o-rings, lube them and make sure nothing is out of place and/or broken.
if you do all of this and the problem persists, then that would lead me to believe that there is a problem with the solenoid. Buy a new solenoid if the problem persists. I believe they cost 25$

Make sure dwell is set to whatever kind of air you're using, c02 or compressed air. Make sure the on/off knob isn't blocking the air tank pin valve air way, which can starve the marker. Unscrew the on/off knob a little bit if it is.

Try a brand new battery in the marker.

Not needed in the GOG forum. If you have nothing to say about the marker HE OWNS, then save it or send it in a private message.
As for the OP, your reg needs to be broken in as do the regs on all new guns. If it is brand new then you need to play with it a bit.

Relax man, I was trying to give him personal advice. I've owned a Gog, it shot great I have no issues with the gun itself or the fact he owns one. I was simply stating he could find a gun of a little higher quality backed by a great company for around the same price. I'm not instigating or trolling the forum. Nor am I saying GOG isn't a good company. They are rather new as are their guns. There will be kinks to work out of their guns obviously.

New? You do realize who they used to be, right?

Used to be is irrelevant, it's not the same guns or quality. I've seen/used them first hand. They aren't smart parts quality so sure "used" to be is appropriate for this.

Could you be more specific with the inconsistency that you are having? Set up, conditions, settings, etc. It is very rare for these guns to chop, because of their low operating pressure. What paint were you shooting?

I stand by my earlier comment. I try my best to help people with the markers they own, not simply tell them to buy something different.

I'm with him ^^^ on this. GOG's machine tolerance isn't the same as when they were Smart Parts. Bodies on Envys I've witnessed were milled pretty off to sometimes prevent balls from going all the way through the breach. Triggers also stick pretty often until I dremel some material off... just telling my experience with them.

I also have an extcy and was having chrono problems. The problem was a little chunk of metal between the reg and banjo fitting.

I've actually noticed much BETTER quality with GoGs products than some iterations of Smart Parts products.
You kids, and your bandwagons.

the definitive checklist goes something like this:
1. change battery
2. seriously change the damn battery
3. lube bolt
4. lube regs
5. check dwell settings
6. check pressures
if it cant be fixed doing that, Houston we may have a problem.
