I would simply point out that the OP asked 'which do you like and why', nothing to the effect of 'harass everyone who's opinion you think is not properly founded on empirical testing and personal experience'. So express said opinion and ride out homies, no need to be a freedom fighter and protect the OP from inaccurate statements by the general public. I own neither, my prophecy V1 is pretty sweet. The OP trolled the **** out of everybody.

at the end of the day it is entirely your choice i cant convince you to get or not to get either one but here is my experience.
You forgot to mention the fact that the rotor is a tried and true hopper. So many pros have used or are using it. (I have used the rotor and I think it works great!) I also believe that it looks cooler than the spire. But it doesn't look as cool as my white z2

Oh and there aren't that many jamming issues if the paint isn't 20$ a case...

Personally, I find that jamming issues are potentially rampant be it $20 a case or $70 a case as soon as it gets humid, otherwise the Rotor is a great loader.

Picked a Spire up used. Love it never jams even in humid Houston. Don't own a rotor yet, but the wet here has caused a few rotors to jam in games. Not sure the versions to be fair, but IMO the spire wins just on jamming. Really love the available colors for the rotor though. After I get one to match my marker I might have a different opinion.

it's funny that when people are comparing the prophecy and rotor that the rotor never jams or malfunction what so ever. then this thread comes up all of a sudden the rotor's jamming issue start to come up. to me some of the reason why the rotor jam is you need to change the battery and that's it. the jamming issure is resolve most of the time.

Which is exactly the problem. When you get paintballs that aren't breaking past 100 feet because of the rain, the Rotor likes to jam up. The problem with that is for this last tournament season, 1/2 of the tournaments had rain in warm weather. Changing the batteries does nothing for a slightly swelled ball.

Theres still jamming issues with the rotor regardless the cost of paint. Its n annoying problem for a $200 hopper. I've had mine jam at the worst possible moments causing the game. Guy running up the tape i had the shot, hopper jams, im bunkered. Lose game...teammates beat me i cry

I've heard the Spire is a very good hopper, I think I should be getting one in soon actually.

My rotors have never failed me except maybe once or twice. I can't really formulate a proper "comparison opinion" until I get the chance to use the Spire.

I have owned both. Both are good loaders and have many good features. The rotor does have a jamming issue in high humidity as learned living in Florida. I moved to NY I joined a team that does a lot of there training in a indoor reball field. My rotor jammed every game so I listened to my team mates and picked up a spire. Have not had a single jam even with reballs. The spire has a lower profile compared to the rotor and holds more paint. It can be broken down fully, cleaned and put back together before you could even break down the rotor. It's much easier to change from the speedfeed to rain cap with the spire then it is with the rotor.

So, my choice is the spire.

Rotor = San Diego Dynasty, Spire = Houston Heat.

Rotor has been the top dog for awhile, but the spire has already impressed many with its ability to perform very well and surpass most of its competition.

I just bought a spire 1 week ago and have played with it once. coming from a rotor fanboy the spire total kicked my rotors butt. didnt jam fed more consistant and looked better and was also a fair deal lighter

Just got back into paintball after a longgggg time off so I had the same question…. After weeks of searching and digging I’ve came to the assumption that EVERY single person that has owned both has said the spire is better in every single aspect. Purchased my with speed feed and yes it was pricey ($220ish) but I love the thing so far couldn’t be happier. Oh and the only people that say the rotor is better usually have the same answer “I’ve never owned the spire but I love my rotor it’s the best”

P.S. Blame Canada!?!?

i dont like that the spire is vibration activated. if say 5 balls in your loader and thats all that you have left. you cant shoot any one. I have seen quite a few points where thos 5 balls could make or break you.

Spire! The profile is smaller and its easier to disassemble! HOWEVER a huge problem I found is that it sucks at feeding when you've got like 10-20 balls left
